The backing has a nice tight bounding that has just enough texture and roughness to hold it in place. If putting on a hardwood floor, tile, or other smooth surface, I would recommend a small sheet of rubber. Skid resisting pads. There are many styles.. I chose this bar style from the Fulton collection. The pile is very short and easy to vacuum. It’s soft and comfortable on the feet. I did and still do have a little problem with the curling of the ends. I am still working on to get to life flat. It’s been a week.

Ordered this and it just was not what I expected. The tuft in the rug is thin. It’s also very lightweight overall and just doesn’t look as appealing or high-quality as it does in the photo.
