[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tried this in a recipe that calls for Sambal Oelek along with ground beef, gnocchi, zucchini, etc. It was excellent! It only takes a small amount to get the perfect level of heat. Plus, it adds that - mmm, there are so many complex flavors that I can't tell what I'm tasting, but it's excellent! - flavor. It would probably taste great on other noodle dishes, rice dishes, or soups. I would highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While trying out the Sambal Oelek Chill paste by Sky Valley was a real treat that I was very excited about because I love spicy paste and it fell short of my expectations due to the excessive and overpowering taste of vinegar that overwhelmed the other seasonings and made it hard to enjoy the chill paste. The taste of vinegar needed to be less in order to make the chill more balanced.

It has a thicker texture than hot sauces, and the spice level is medium, in my opinion. There is no sweetness to this product. I like the versatility of this chili paste. It is great with everything from eggs at breakfast to soups, vegetables, and meats. Sambal oelek adds flair to regular American dishes. Highly recommended.

It's easy to use and add in with meal preparation. It stores easily too to keep some on hand. Excellent quality and delicious flavor.
