Q: My indoor cats could use the mat as a scratching post? but I would have to put it it inside as well. The two scratching posts I bought for them at the pet store they don't pay attention to them. Thank

A: Thanks for your interest in our utility mat. While we are sure your cat would enjoy the comfort of this mat, we cannot recommend to use this as a scratching post, as that is not its intended us. The testing that we have performed for this utility mat was only done for it’s intended usage.

They're designed to be out doors and walked upon. (Your cats won't like the smell. Whatever you choose—it should be as natural as possible with no chemical finishes. Your vet will be the expert!)

Q: Is the backing made of a latex free rubber? I know some rubbers have latex and some don't. I ask because I live with someone who has a severe latex allergy.

I would not consider this an “outdoor” mat. Water sits on top of it and doesn’t absorb. I walked across it with wet boots over 24 hours ago and the water is *still* sitting at the top of the mat, not absorbing at all. I wouldn’t recommend this for outdoor use. I’ve never seen a door mat not be even remotely functional quite like this one. I also suspect it will grow mold quickly.

This rug type definitely traps the dirt but because of the grooves and material the dirt is never coming off. I sweep it with three different sweepers and it still is full of dirt. You are to shake it out to clean and even then all the dirt doesn’t come out. They can’t be washed. Hosing it off gets it clean but then you have to wait for it to dry. It’s solid until you put it in the washing machine. Then it cracks in half.

I love the deep navy color and unique design. These utility mats are sturdy and of good quality, but comfortable on bare feet. I keep them at on LVP floors at my entryways and they haven’t caused any damage. One of the best parts is how easy they are to clean.
