A: I put it under the mattress pad because you can't wash the foam, so it makes sense to protect it.

A: It took 2 weeks of airing out for mine to get rid of most of the odor. One of the weeks was outside.

The price was reasonable and it's soft. Also, you get two sides, but I use the firmer side because I started to sank. lol, go down. I'm small. The downfall is that it doesn't keep you cool. At first I thought it was me but it held heat , so in the summer it will be warm. But in the fall and winter, it's just the right temperature.

Stupid of me to buy this thing. I would have bought the regular 1.5 inch topper, like the one I already have, but I noticed this one is "highly rated." The ridges that are cut into the surface means you get less density so there isn't as much foam as in the plain version. This is just a flimsy waste.

I bought this for a full sized bed. I aired it out for a week outside, then moved it inside and aired it out for another week. It has some serious noxious gasses so this will not be an immediate gratification purchase. Today I finally put it on the bed, mountainous side up and placed under the waterproof mattress cover. It provides a noticeable softness. I laid down without it and there was a gap in my lower back, then with it the foam fills in the gap in my lower back. I'm buying another for a different bedroom.

After a maintenance emergency that required getting rid of my bed, I have been sleeping on an air mattress while waiting for the new one -- it was awful, until I bought this. Compelled to write a review because of the incredibly good value -- can't believe how much this helps and how little it cost! I've been sleeping at least as well as on my $2k mattress while sleeping on an air bed since I got this. Helps with temperature regulation as well - was having terrible night sweats on the air mattress before getting this.
