Q&A(50)

Q: Will this fit a twin or queen size bed?

submitted by HC - 6 years ago
  • A: A weighted blanket should not drape over the sides of the bed. So this may not be queen sized, but could be used for a single person on a queen bed.

submitted byPat Kelsey - 6 years ago
  • A: It's only 4ft wide by 6 ft long. It's a throw size so definitely won't fit a queen might be usable on a twin.

submitted byPW - 6 years ago
  • A: Twin bed. I use it on my queen but only for myself.

Q: what is it filled with to weight it? Glass beads?

submitted by Kathy - 6 years ago
  • A: 93% glass beadsand the other is polyester fiber. It’s a little noisy.

    submitted byRockme100 - 6 years ago
  • A: It’s definitely not noticeably noisy! The beads move when you move, settle when you settle. Less than the sound of sheets and blankets rustling when repositioning.

    submitted byMUMTUR2XRO - 6 years ago
  • A: We JUST bought one of these, and it now says 91% glass beads

Q: Is this safe to use? Will it get me sick? Being made of glass and all?

submitted by alp11216 - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi there, the glass beads are sewn inside of the blanket so you will not have any direct contact with the glass beads.

submitted byAmerican Textile Co - 5 years ago
  • A: The glass beads are microscopic and leak through the fabric constantly. You will have glass beads everywhere. I'm returning mine because of this.

Q: Can you use or spray hydrogen peroxide on it since it it spot clean only? Just wanted to sanitize it before using.

submitted by Healthynerd - 6 years ago
  • A: a natural way to sanitize is using vinegar mixed with water. you could spray fabric softner on it to make it smell good too.

submitted byd - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi Healthynerd, we would not recommend using hydrogen peroxide as it could discolor the blanket.

Q: Can this be used for children? I have a 72lb child with ADHD and not sure what weight to use

submitted by Kkeeth - 6 years ago
  • A: The recommendation for weighted blankets is 10% of body weight +1-2lbs. So for a 72lb child, you’d want a blanket between 7-9lbs.

submitted byRainCityMom - 6 years ago
  • A: It's recommended that you use 10% of their body weight. So about 7-8 lbs.

Q: can you put the blanket in the dryer?

submitted by Faeya - 6 years ago
  • A: I would not put it in the washer or dryer because of the weight. I had one that weighed a little less and it broke my dryer belt. I am going to use a dry cleaners.

submitted byPaula - 6 years ago
  • A: You can but only on low due to the materials inside.
