Q: Need a lamp for Quilting Retreats. How much heat does the light bulb generate while being used? And does it travel well in a craft tote?
A: Thank you for your inquiry. No, Ottlite technology is specific to a 1 o'clock afternoon sunshine w/out the harmful heat, rays or glare. The top portion of the lamp does fold downward for better travel capacity. Please beware that the lamp includes an adapter (cord) that must be plugged into a workable wall outlet at all times in order for lamp to operate. Best regards, Ottlite Customer Service.

Q: Could this be used as a piano lamp? Does it extend far enough to shine on the sheet music? Thank you.
A: Thank you for your inquiry. For Ottlite's Slimline Task lamp when the arm is straight up & the shade is at a 90 degree angle the shade measures 10.5", however the lamp bends right above the base where there is a coinscrew (with a slit in it) so by bending the lamp at that point, meaning arm is fully extended gives a reach of 14.5". Also, the shade can rotate to the left to right 90 degrees. Best regards, Ottlite C/S PH#800/842-8848 (M-F, 9am-5pm EST).

Q: Can this or any of your lamps use a 4 pin PL-S TUV 9 WATT flou tube? Please advise. Thanks
A: Thank you for your inquiry. My apology however Ottlite no longer manufacturers any lamps that take a 9 watt bulb. Best regards, Ottlite Customer Service PH#800/842-8848

Q: Is the bulb covered or shaded? That is, when the lamp is adjusted to its tallest setting, will I be looking at the bare bulb?
A: Thank you for your inquiry. There is no covering or shade underneath the main shade, covering the bulb. The bulb is located under the top shade of lamp and if the bulb is viewed from underneath the top shade yes, the bulb is exposed to the naked eye.

Q: what kind of bulb does it uses?
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Ottlite's SlimLine Task lamp includes 1 Ottlite 13 watt "E" type CFL (Compact Florescent) that is equivalent to approx. 60 watts in an incandescent world. Hope this helps. Best regards, ML Mooney C/S Rep-Ottlite-Tampa, FL
