Q: What is the distance between the screw holes in the provided bracket? The inside of my window frame is somewhat narrow.
A: About half an inch, at a diagonal. HOWEVER, I put up two of them with the 3M damage-free hanging stickums and it worked like a charm.

Q: Why do the answers to the many questions about "can they be cut to size" contradict each other? Why does one answer say there is a polyester backing on ONE color, but that's not mentioned anywhere?

submitted byLumi - 2 years agoA: They are specific sizes, already connected to the hardware that makes the shade go up and down, so no they are not customizable. You CAN go to a window store and have some made to your specifications.

Q: Can these be mounted OUTSIDE the window trim (onto the drywall above the window)?
A: Yes, as long as the holes where the shade fits into are facing each other.

Q: What is the minimum depth require for a flush inside mount?
A: Hi Pmcgettigan, the bracket used for this product is the standard Universal Roller Shade bracket. For a flush inside window mount the very minimum depth needed to install the brackets is 2.1 inch

A: No. Go to a window store and get some custom made.

Q: How do these go up and down if there is no cord?
A: They're shades, not blinds. There's a rim along the bottom that you just pull on to lower and the way it's made, you lower it and it catches and undoes itself to go back up. Kind of hard to describe.

Q: Can this shade be shortened?
A: Why? It rolls down to whatever length you want it. Anyway, they have specific sizes. You could buy some custom fit at a window store.

Q: Does the taupe and gray look like the same color?
A: Hi Meme. If you look at the 2nd photo, you will notice the difference. Gray also has a non-woven polyester backing.

Q: Can these be used on a French style patio door?
A: Dear Meme. I believe it depends on the French Door design. If the door handle cause an obstruction, it will not be suitable for any window shade.
