SquareTrade sells extended protection to cover above and beyond what your manufacturer covers. Since SquareTrade is an extended warranty, any existing warranty from a seller or manufacturer does take precedent over the SquareTrade warranty. For normal mechanical and electronic failures, our coverage begins after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. Most items are covered up to one year by the manufacturer. You can count on SquareTrade to provide continued coverage for your item after your manufacturer’s warranty ends. For more information about manufacturer warranties, please visit our help page. A: Hello Tofitme The protection plan that you have purchased, covers all mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. You will receive 100% parts and labor coverage up to the original price of the item. We will cover you up to the full price you paid for the item, excluding tax. Each time you file a claim and we repair your item, the total value of the coverage is reduced by the cost of the repair. The issues that we do not cover include misuse, loss or theft, software issues, and any cosmetic damage that does not affect the operation of a device. Q: Hello, I purchased my Nintendo Switch a couple of days ago but I am unsure about this protection plan. Where is the plan that covers cracks and accidental damages as well?

The SquareTrade protection plan that you have selected is a basic plan which only provides coverage mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. I would advise you to purchase a SquareTrade protection plan with accidental damage coverage. As long as the SquareTrade protection plan is purchased within 30 days of purchasing your Nintendo Switch, the game console will be covered. Accidental damage protection plans provide coverage for all mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. You will receive 100% parts and labor coverage. Accidental damage, such as drops and spills, is also covered. Please note, SquareTrade protection plans purchased from Target are only for items purchased from Target. Q: I bought a Nintendo switch for my son, and as we were playing it, one of the controllers from the left side came undone out of nowhere. a tiny black piece came off with it. Would this be covered under the protection plan?
