The pillows took forever to get a smell out of them and then once we could use them the strings started falling out left and right (from simply moving them or leaning on them).

Yippee!!! Success, fabreeze works on chemical smell. I am enjoying these beautiful shaggy pillows. I took the covers off and turned them inside out. There is a cloth backing that has chemical smell. Don't remove it, likely it protects the shag from coming loose. I lightly sprayed the backing and used my hand to distribute it all over the backing. Let dry thoroughly. Turn the pillow cover right side out and lightly spray shag distributing it in shag. Kinda like giving a big hairy dog a good rub. Lol. When all is done put pillow back in. Mine now smells slightly like spring.

Inner pillow is a bit small for the cover. After about a month the inner pillow is noticeably too small for the cover. Certainly not an overstuffed look

Received this pillow in ivory and was delighted at the quality - its a steal at this price..Remember its euro size so its a rather large pillow!
