Q: When we opened the mattress topper and put in on the bed, it had a horrible smell, probably from being boxed in plastic for a while. It's a very strong odor. What do we do?

A: This is normal. That is the polyurethane smell. It should be aired out for 24 to 48 hours before use.

Q: The cover keeps sliding from one side to the other; the "fitted" part of the cover doesn't hold it in place. Is there something we could use to keep this from happening?

A: Hello Archie - Thank you for your interest in this product. Normally, the fitted sheet is enough to keep the cover, also with a fitted sheet-like bottom, in place but the customer may want to try anchor bands. They’re normally for sheets I think but there is no reason I know of that they wouldn’t work for the topper cover/mattress pad. We do hope this answer your question. Have a great day! - Nouchee

Q: I just bought the queen sized one and as soon as I took it out of the box, it was like a dark blue and it’s been about an hour and it looks like it would only cover a twin. I’m wondering if it’ll size out? And if so, how long will that take?

This topper is so amazing. We got a new bed, and it's way too firm. We had a traditional memory foam topper in the past, but it's hot, and I can't stand how slow it responds. Feels hard to move around. This Serene memory foam solved both of those issues. It does not sleep hot, and the response time it takes to bounce back into form is immediate. I'm so in love with this topper. It does have a slight chemical off gassing smell when opened, but it's not that bad and it does go away. It is a tad smaller than the mattress, but not too majorly. The mattress pad they provide is soft, and I love it, but I agree it wish it was a zip up protector instead of a fitted sheet type, but it is soft. The price should have been more like 150, but I am very happy with it.

It's comfortable, but there are 2 big problems with it. First, the sizing is not right - it sort of doesn't fit the mattress properly. And second, it has no straps or anything to keep it on the mattress so it slides all over the place. It's almost a good product but it's just lacking in a few important ways. Wouldn't recommend you buy it for those reasons.

As said in the reviews this thing really does smell like fish and the sizing is a bit off. Don’t even attempt the pull off the warning sticker you will rip the foam up due to positioning of the sticker I had to take it off for it to lay flat! It does seem soft but I’m not sure I will keep it due to the smell alone!

First, I had to let this thing air out for OVER A MONTH--and, even then, the smell was still there, though not as bad. I finally ended up putting it into a zipper-encased alltergen cover, which made it at least bearable to sleep on by camouflaging the remaining smell. So, after a full month of airing it out and encasing it, I slept on it for exactly one month. By that time it had broken down SO much and there was ZERO support, which causes me to wake up every morning with a horrible back ache now. What a waste of almost $200. Lesson learned: If you want a quality sleep product, don't buy this brand--and don't by at Target. NOTE: I wrote another review of this exact same product on the Target site about a month ago about only the smell. But Target decided not to publish it. Hopefully they won't censor this review.

Once I opened the box, the smell was just unbearable and got worse as I tried to let it air out. My entire place smells like a fishy smell. I opened the windows and I'm giving it 1 more full day to air out. I'm not sure I will be able to manage the smell and keep this. Sizing is also off.

Sleeps like a dream, but you must handle it with extreme care. DON’T attempt to remove sticker. Wish they didn’t place it there, but we didn’t try to remove it as reviews mentioned it would tear if you did. Don’t attempt to grab and pull it - it will rip. But if you can get it in place and put the cover on it, the sleep is phenomenal. Wish materials were more durable, but the wonderful sleep has made it worthwhile putting up with the extra care needed when moving it.

One of the most comfortable mattress toppers around, I sleep very well on this and felt good the next morning when I woke up, it smells when you first open on but it goes away after a day or two, it's no big deal. I am thinking about buying another one for another bed I have. I would definitely recommend

I truly do not understand where these bad ratings are coming from regarding this mattress topper. I bought this topper 8 months ago to use on my new king size mattress that cost me over 3k. Worst mattress in the world for my back. I bought this cover and not only is it soothing for my back, it is also cooling. I would highly recommend this mattress cover, especially if you have a mattress that is causing you lots of pain. There was a slight smell at the beginning, which was expected, but it went away after a few days. I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews before I bought it. My back pain from the mattress and the fact that I couldn’t return the mattress was convincing enough.
