A: By width it means what I would call depth: front to back.
submitted byProfessor - 9 years agoA: Sorry, I got this while I am visiting my daughter for a month after the birth of her baby. I can only guess on the exact width but that sounds about right based the size of items I put on them. I do want to say that I got two of these folding bookcases and I really love them. They are sturdy and easy to set up. I have one outside my back door for garden items and the occasional sit down of a package. The other is a conventional bookcase in the house. Target is good about returns so I would say buy them. The quality and price are excellent.

I have one of these, but wanted a 2nd one. 2 wires on the shelf of the new one were bent and the shelf was not going to lay flat, rendering it unusable. I plan on ordering again, but they get 3 stars because: 1. the instructions say NOT to return it to the store, but to call the 1-800 number, but when I called, they insisted I return it to the store. 2. The wires were clearly bent, yet they packed it in a box and shipped it (!?!)

My shelf came damaged. One of the bars at the bottom is significantly bent, one of the white caps for the adjustable feet has a bunch of extra plastic poking out from being poorly molded, and one of the other plastic caps is so chewed up from processing that it doesn’t fit on the foot anymore. I’m seriously disappointed because I never have problems with my target orders. This item was clearly not quality checked after production. It still works, thankfully, because I don’t really want to deal with returning such a large item.

While the design is clever, the quality is not there. The first shelf I ordered was in poor shape, with large scratches, dents, and areas of missing paint throughout. Target offered to send a replacement unit, which arrived today. While the second shelf has no cosmetic flaws, it is not sturdy at all and sways heavily back and forth at the slightest touch. The first shelf was not like this. I’m not going to deal with the return/replacement process a third time, so I’ll just cut my loses and try to use it for garage storage instead of office storage as planned. Also wanted to note that both packages contained a weird dark grit-like substance that got absolutely everywhere when unboxing.

The fact that this rack comes FULLY ASSEMBLED was a big bonus. Pulled it out of the box, placed it where I wanted it, and began loading items on it immediately. Was done in 5 minutes. Bravo to the designer!

Ordered this because of the color - there are other colors available but the lime green was perfect for my intended use. It came out of the box with a corner poorly painted in a different color - yellowish - clearly a sloppy repair from the manufacturer. I would upload a photo of the problem but I can't get the site to accept my photo. Complained to Target through the web site - was told by the page that the item was not returnable and then told I would get a refund when I returned it to a store. Very disappointed with this experience. But if you can ignore the bad paint job (I can't) it seems sturdy and it was easy to assemble.

Great little shelf. Fits perfectly inside a walk in closet. Using it to store some books on the bottom shelf, lighter weight seasonal decorations on 2nd and 3rd tiers. Anchors included for securing to the wall for safety. Now I'm thinking where I could use another one. Neat and tidy, closet looks so much better. Move it around wherever you need to, versatile and fun. I love it!

I paid total of $45.64 because I had a 15% off coupon. This helps the value of the item plus free shipping helped. I think $54.99 is too high for this. That said, I really like it. It just opens up right out of the box, no assembly. Good quality, sturdy, not wobbly. It is a brownish black. The dimensions are perfect for what I need--floor shelving in a large closet.

Very happy with this shelf. Came quickly and packaged nicely. Easily to fold shelves out and put together in a snap, no tools needed. With shelves down and in place, its very solid they lightweight. Would be easy to store as well as it folds up flat. Using it beside bed for my husbands CPAP and stuff that goes along with that. Decorative baskets makes it a nice addition to the bedroom.
