Beautiful matte black rod, easier if you use screws
4 out of 5 stars
Thumbs up graphic, would recommend
Genna - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
The rod is beautiful matte black. We are renters so it was the perfect option because there is a nail only option for installment (our landlord requires nails only). The only reason I have 4 stars is because the nails go in at an angle and it wasn’t the easiest to install. It ripped more paint/drywall than it should’ve and hammering the nails at an angle is a pain.

Used this in our baby’s nursery and works really well to help the curtains block out the light. Very sturdy!

My favorite curtain rods. I bought one for each bedroom in my house. Although it took me a while to single handily install these. They are very secure and stylish.

Not blackout....

Sary - 5 months ago, Verified purchaser
Very difficult to install. Aside from that it’s not fully blackout, as the gap at the top on the rod allows a good amount of daylight in.
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 5 months ago
Sary: We are sorry to hear you found installation challenging. The design of our blackout rod is consistent with blackout curtain rods currently found in the market, which are open at the top. Please feel free to connect with us directly with any of your questions at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com Thank you.

Poor Customer Service - 7 months ago
One of the parts was damaged. Rather than uninstall the rod and return the whole thing, I tried using the customer service from SatoriHome (the company that makes these). They were really a pain...wouldn't just send me the replacement part. I emailed back and forth for days. The curtain rod is fine, but all of this hassle for a $5 part is ridiculous. Wouldn't buy again if I knew it was a product made by SatoriHome.

Consumer: We are sorry for your trouble. We would be happy to send you the replacement part you need, we just need to ensure we follow our protocols in obtaining the information we need to ensure we send you the accurate replacement part, otherwise what you receive will not be helpful. We offered to send you a replacement at no charge but needed to know more details than you were able to provide on the item in question. Please reach out to our Customer Experience line, at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com or 855-4-SATORI, for further assistance.
Annoying Installation

BB - 8 months ago, Verified purchaser
This looks great, but the installation was a pain. The brackets do not have a mounting hole in the center of the bracket, so you have to actually measure the sides differently to get it symmetrical above the window. Also, the point on which you put the rod onto the bracket is a different diameter on each bracket....which isn't addressed in the instructions. So, we didn't realize it until the brackets had been drilled into the walls. We now have the curtain rod up, and it looks lovely, but we cannot insert the securing screws into the rod and bracket. We would have to remove the brackets and swap them. Since we used the drywall anchor, we can't do so wtihout running the risk of damaging the anchor or drywall. So, our rods will just live unsecured for the time being. The instructions could definitely be more clear, and the brackets could be far better.
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 8 months ago
BB: Based on the description of your circumstances, we think you would simply be able to switch the rods to align with their coordinating brackets, rather than removing the installed brackets. We hope this helps! Please feel free to directly connect with us on questions or comments at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com.

This curtain rod looks really nice, I like how the curtain can go all the way to the wall to block out more light. The mounting is super weird and the covers scratched up my wall, also it doesn’t come with a middle support so I had to buy that separately which sucks.
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 9 months ago
aaaashley1234: Please note that the 36"-66" rod size of our Blackout Rectangle Curtain Rod does not include or require a center bracket, but the 66"-120" rod size includes a center bracket. If you purchased the 66"-120" rod size and there was no center support bracket, we recommend you contact us, by either calling 1-855-472-8674, or emailing at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com. We would be happy to send you a replacement center bracket. Thank you.
Does not fit full range 120"

Need max Length - 9 months ago, Verified purchaser
Our window is 118" and there is a full 7 inch gap in the rod. I have no idea how they are defining this as a max of 120" don't push a max of 110'-111'" This is going to be a HUGE pain for us to solve as we planned on using this particular rod. We like it and would recommend, but ONLY if you have a shorter window. Giving it a high quality rating, but low rate for everything else because of the false dims and massive inconvenience
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 9 months ago
Consumer: Our 66'120" Blackout Rectangle Curtain Rod will fit window widths up to 120", excluding measurements of the end finials. The rod set should include one 42.25" larger diameter curved rod, one 42.25" small diameter curved rod and one 41.75" center rod, where the tapered end connects to the small diameter curved rod and the other end telescopes into the larger diameter curved rod. If the specs provided do not match against your rod set, then we recommend that you return the item from where it was purchased for replacement. I have these over 3 windows now and will eventually replace my daughter’s window. Easy to install even when you’re a SAHM with kids interrupting you every two seconds. Nice profile and the curved rod is a game changer for containing the light. It makes such a big difference!

KG - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
These were so easy to put up because you have the option to use a nail mount vs a screw/anchor mount. I was weary at first, but then after I saw how the nails were installed to create the support I was sold. They have held great, even with kids pulling on the curtains that are hanging from it.

The mounting system is complicated. It's extremely difficult to get the brackets upright because the screws in the mount are staggered. I wish I would have at least bought the one with the round brackets so it wouldn't be so noticeable.
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 1 year ago
tinag: We think the issue you described may relate to ensuring the mounting plates are level. If installing the Rectangle Blackout Curtain Rod with screws, use the mounting plate as a guide to mark drill holes with a pencil through the screw holes of the plates before proceeding to the next step. We also suggest that you review the installation video for this item on its product page on Target.com. If you need further assistance, we urge you to please contact our Customer Experience line, at 1-855-472-8674, and a team member will gladly walk you through the installation process. Please also feel free to connect with us directly on questions or comments at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com. Thank you!

The way you mount this rod has changed very recently from the previous multiple I’ve purchased of this same rod. I am very pleased with the way the they had them before the change, now they are more complicated and annoying to install. Also, because of the new installation it doesn’t allow you the option to be flush with the ceiling if that is what you were wanting to do. All this is worth noting, especially if you have bought this in the past and were expecting it to be the same.
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 1 year ago
Anna: Yes, some clearance from the ceiling is needed above the mounting plates to slide the brackets over the, about two inches. The new design of the brackets hides the screws that show on traditional room darkening rods, giving much more of a stream-lined appearance. This mounting system is different from their last iteration of this rod, which I had. You secure the mount to the wall (with a screwdriver or drill) and then the rod slides from above to attach. The anchors are staggered, which is fine, unless you have previously installed rods and thought you could use the same anchor supports… you cannot. Since you have to slide the rod onto the mounting brackets from above, it limits how high you can hang the curtains. If you have matte paint like me, be prepared for the black rod to mark up your wall. Overall, I do like it though. It holds my blackout curtains no problem and does a good job in assisting the curtains block out the light.

Be aware that you will not be able to hang this rod close to the ceiling because of the way it mounts. Curtains always look better going all the way up!
1 reply from the Product Manufacturer team - 1 year ago
KaitW: For low ceilings, what you described would likely occur with most window curtain rods, especially those with attached finials, With its attractive bracket design, our Rectangle Blackout Curtain Rod introduces a more stylish option for the consumer for blackout rods. We are sorry it was not the right choice for you. Please also feel free to connect with us directly on questions or comments at customerexperience@satorihomeltd.com. Thank you!
