A: These work great for record storage. Each cube can hold about 70 records. Positioning the bookshelf so that the solid middle shelf goes horizontal instead vertical will add a bit more weight support.

A: Yes. I have the 6 cube. It’s pretty solid. I like it. I would add wood glue or Alene’s when assembling. I wish for my other Target furniture, the lower price point items, I had done so. Don’t buy those. *style advice, banish the sad cardboard backings to furniture and leave all shelves open!

A: You can, but then the top is only supported by the screws from the sides. The kallax from IKEA is better for this bc the sides are under the top, so it doesn't needs as much support from the center. It's still a risk with either as you're removing the center support.

A: It’s stable. I have three kids, only thing we ever needed to secure was a rickety bookshelf from ikea. If your kids are going to climb bookshelves as soon as you look away for a second lol bc kids, they’ll do anything! Keep a close eye.

A: I want to advise you that this is a very low price point item. It’s pressed wood chip. You *might* get one more take apart and reassemble. This isn’t a product meant to last 4 years of uni. Wire shelves would serve your purposes better. Get this when you move off campus and someone’s there all summer.

A: The cubbies are 1/4" wider than KALLAX. I had compatibility issues with the KALLAX inserts, especially the drawers which require precision. KALLAX cubby: 13-1/8"; this product: 13-3/8".
