The edges (eg lip of the spoon) have not been polished smooth. They're more like right angles.

I'm glad this comes with 8 settings rather than 12 because I don't have that much company at one time. The buffet holder is so handy for storage which fits in a drawer in my kitchen. But the holder looks nice enough that you could store it in the open on a countertop.

The finish is good and they clean up easily. They are very eye appealing and look good in a place setting. The storage rack they came with is very nice and handy.
