There is no way to connect the two pieces end to end. Screws and washers are supplied that I assume are to be screwed into the house? (No instruction included). Since my house is stone, there is no way to make these work. I was hoping to connect them end to end and then place them in front of the downspout and tie them together in the back. This is impossible since they don't connect. If I had some bolts, perhaps I could secure the two pieces together? Who knows. A waste of $$

I ordered two of these thinking I could use them to support clematis vines on two of my downspouts. The hardware supplied makes it impossible to connect the two iron pieces together. It comes with lots of screws and washers but nothing to secure the screws into place. So, unless you have bolts laying around, don't bother. I fashioned 1 of the four iron pieces (two orders=4 iron pieces) as a support for an existing clematis vine. Since it isn't designed to stick into the ground I had to secure it with some other garden supports. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. Next time I get to the hardware store I will pick up bolts. BUT, this item is too expensive to be missing parts.
