The 160gsm paper has a nice light bite to it, is bright white, and handles lots of different media well as advertised. I use this as my carry-everywhere sketchbook. I like that I can pull the pages out and leave them on my desk for work sketches to reference, or leave nice drawings in there thanks to the perforations. I use it with pencil, pen, Sharpie S-Note markers and copic type markers. Copic and prismacolor show through to the other side but very unlikely bleed through to the next page in the sketchbook.

Pages are thick, paint isn’t going to deep through to the next page which is great for multiple pieces and saving paper. One of the better art notebook at target

My daughter uses these notepads for her watercolors. We used to tear them out & then paint but now she's started doing "watercolor notebooks" and just leaving the pages in. The paper does warp & sometimes balls up a bit when she overworks the paper. But for a 7 year old practicing her watercolor skills, these work just fine!

Good sketchbook, came in good condition. The pages are nice and lightly textured. They hold water well, but they do warp a bit. I'd recommend taping the pages down or maybe binder clipping them. They hold almost all mediums well. I wouldn't go dumping a buckets worth of watercolor on them, but they hold out nicely in regular use.

For a mixed media paper you can buy without going to a craft or art supply store, Strathmore is a great choice for beginners, students, even professionals wanting to save a bit of money to practice. This book's paper is made in the US and can take a fair beating with wet media - I can do light washes with watercolor, ink, and gouache with only a minimal amount of buckling. All dry media performs wonderfully with this paper, as well as felt-tip pens like the Papermate Flair, Sakura Micron, and Faber-Castell Pitt Pen.
It will have some issues with heavier washes of watercolor, thicker and moist paints like oil/acrylic/poster paint, or beating the paper up with something like metal ink nibs. I might recommend upgrading to 300 or higher series paper if those medias are important. Alcohol markers can be used with this paper, but anything but a clear blender will bleed through the paper and onto the next page.
Overall, for the price I paid for this book, I would highly recommend it over most of the other generic sketchbooks you can find in store.

My daughter has become very involved with alcohol inks and water color pens. We went through different papers to only find them not work well with either pens. So I saw this mixed media and saw how heavy the weight was, and she tried it out and now her art is banging and easier to blend and create.

Nice heavy weight (98 lb) mixed media paper. Has some tooth to it but not excessively rough. Works well with colored pencils. Used an alcohol marker to blend and it didn't bleed through to the next page.
