52" Dempsey Low Profile Ceiling Fan with Remote (Includes LED Light Bulb) - Hunter Fan

There is a light humming at the highest speed and a lighter hum at medium speed, from the motor. Install was okay. Broke one of the long screws trying to see if I could screw it in without pre-drilling. Disappointed with how easily it broke. Would like the threaded holes to be thicker or stronger or both though. You're supposed to screw everything tight so nothing comes loose and makes noise or extra noise or so the fan doesn't fall down but it's too easy to strip the threads of the holes. I almost stripped three of them trying to tighten the screws. Better construction and higher quality fasteners preferred.

This fan was purchased to replace a 37 year old Hunter fan that had started to make noises during the night. Both are 52" four bladed fans. The old fan had what was referred to as a "schoolhouse" enclosure covering the single LED bulb. We were always comfortable with the old fan running at either low or medium speed, depending on the season. We find that we have to run the new one at high speed to get the equivalent airflow sensation. The light fixture on the old fan produced significantly more light than the new one. At its brightest setting, the new one brings a dark room to a level that could best be described as twilight. I have yet to check to see if brighter bulbs are available without risking an overload. On the plus side, the new fan is significantly quieter than the old one. The remote control (purchased separately) works very well but rests loosely in its wall mounted holder, causing it to wiggle when its buttons are pushed.

Attractive fan. Clean efficient look. Great remote. Only gave it 4 stars because it is a little noisy. Electric motor whine. Not horrible and probably unavoidable. Would definitely recommend.

Love the fan, now that its installed and working. Product shipped with a dead battery in the remote, and the remote transmitter inside the fan was faulty when electrician came to install. Getting the replacement part took a bit longer than I would have preferred, otherwise this review would be 5/5.

The Dempsey Hunter fan looks perfect in our condo. We purchase 3 fans, 2- 44 inches for the bedroom & den; 1- 52 inch for the living room area. There are whisper quite, have a high profile (our old ones has hanging lights.) We have a 9' high ceiling. The remotes are very handy. I don't like that the fan don't have a reverse switch that is easy to change. I have to take the light fixture off, change the reserve switch then replace the lighting fixture. A great buy & wonderful fan.

We love the fan. It is attractive and low profile for our small guest bedroom. My only compliant is unlike other Hunter fans we bought with remotes, they provided no wall mount for the remote control. We have no place to put the remote in the room that people will find so now I have to find and purchase a way to mount on the wall near the original light switch in the bedroom.

This is a nice, basic fan with clean lines and a quiet motor. Slightly more difficult to install than some of the other 'quick' connect fans, but still relatively simple to install. Agree with other reviewers that the provided led bulbs are a little dim, but we have it in our bedroom where we have good natural lighting during the daytime, and would only use it at night when we are getting ready to sleep anyway so this isn't a huge issue for us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started looking for a compact ceiling fan a few months ago. I found the Dempsey Low Profile Fan with light. Its just what I was looking for. Its 52 inches with 4 blades. Easy installation similar to other ceiling fans with lights. It has a sleek modern look. Great air flow with only 4 blades. Though, its not the quietest fan I have had but I would not say its the nosiest I have had either. I found the noise level was the highest on high.

We bought 3 of the 44" Dempsey Low Profile fan for the smaller bedrooms and office, and liked them so well, we bought the 52 inch for the Master Bedroom They're quiet, effective, provide ample light in the room and it's easy to get to the lightbulbs, and I look the look of them installed as much as I hoped since I was shopping on-line. As me in 5 years how they hold up over time; but I've had Hunter Ceiling Fans before and found them to last a long time without making funny noises. One even continued to work well after a 7.3 pt earthquake.

I can’t even put the fan on a angled ceiling and it’s hard to install.

Airflow from Dempsey Low Profile as advertised - more than adequate for our kitchen. Light profile perfect - non intrusive to space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fan is modern without being too modern and can fit in a variety of rooms. With 4 blades, it doesn’t look too modern and the choice of a grayish color fan blade and a dark brown fan blade side it can match any room. It was easy and straight forward to install. I knocked it one star because the light bothers me. It has a dimmer on the switch but you can’t just turn it brighter, you have to go all the way dim, completely turn it off, and then go back up to the brightness you want. Every single time.

Fan was relatively easy to install (took about 1 hr at an easy pace - using existing ceiling outlet). Screwing the blades in place was a bit tricky (push them into the slots and then lift the tips to the ceiling so you can see the hole to screw into). No wobble. Totally quiet on lowest setting, very slight motor humming on medium setting and slight hum on fastest setting - but for both medium and high settings the noise of the moving air will be at least as loud. The lowest and medium speeds feel a bit too slow. The highest setting will definitely cool you down quickly. Would be good to adjust upwards the lower speeds (or at least the medium speed) a bit in future so that the different steps are all useful. The low speed is probably useful for circulating warm air in winter. Overall, happy with the purchase at the price. I'd buy this fan again - a model with a wider blade span than 52in would be even better.
