54" Havoc Wet Rated Ceiling Fan with Wall Control (Includes LED Light Bulb) - Hunter Fan

We bought two of these fans for our seaside home in Antigua. They are very quiet and move a lot of air. Overall I rate them highly but take off some stars for the remote setup. I would caution anyone getting these fans to be very careful if you have two or more fans on one switch. Upon setup you must sync the fans separately by turning off the electrical and removing one fan at a time from electrical service as you sync to the remote wall module. A bit tedious but not difficult. You must make sure each fan is in the same operating state when you do this, for instance you must have both lights off and fans set preferably at off. We did not do this at first and when reconnected one fan would have a light on, the other off and fan speeds at different levels. So, we set them at the same levels and re-installed. Problem solved (for then). The real problem arises when there are power outages. Twice we have encountered dis-similar function upon power returning. This means back up on a 12 foot ladder as we have a high ceiling and running through the electrical and sync functions once again. If these fans had some sort of manual function it would make that process much easier. I am seriously thinking of taking them down and going with a more traditional, Salt Air and manual fan.

Incredibly powerful! We can sit in humid weather and the fan makes it pleasant to be outside. Super quiet while moving lots of air at the same time!

Disappointed that the fans did not come with remotes. Had to purchase them separately. The wall unit control did not work for two fans. Receive mixed messages from Hunter help

Fan provides good airflow but the light is very disappointing. Barely adequate. Must be supplemented with additional light sources for evening use. Did not meet expectations.

I bought this fan for my covered outdoor patio. I probably could have bought a cheaper damp rated fan for this location, but wanted to make sure it would last. This fan is wet rated which means that it can get wet and still work perfectly fine. It's meant for uncovered outdoor areas where the fan will get wet from direct rainfall and dew and high humidity. I have not been able to test this out as it is in a covered patio. I had an electrician install this fan so I can't tell you how hard it is to install. However he installed it on about 30 minutes with an electrical box already in that location. The fan is very quiet and moves a lot of air. I live in Florida so it gets very hot and humid outdoors here. This fan makes it possible to sit outside on our patio in the summer and not melt in the summer heat. The fan comes with a LED light kit that cannot be removed. It is sealed (so it doesn't use standard LED light bulbs) instead it uses LED light strips which cannot be replaced that I know of. That's fine as LED lights last for thousands of hours of use and should last the lifetime of this fan. The light is bright enough, but not super bright and it is dimmable. The one issue I have with this fan is that it's a remote controlled fan. I understand why they did this (to eliminate another area for water to get into this fan, think pull chains), however, the remote control setup is poorly implemented. The remote that comes with this fan can be installed in the wall and hooked up to the house electrical. However, all it uses the electrical for is an on/off switch. You can turn the light on/off (and dim it) and adjust the fan speed from the remote, all using the battery in the remote control. So if/when the battery dies you have to take the remote control out of the wall and disconnect the electrical connection and then replace the battery in the remote control and reinstall it in the wall. To me that doesn't make much sense. The reason they did this is because otherwise you would have to run additional wires from the switch to the fan to be able to control all operations of this fan. However, I think Hunter could have used the home AC to power the remote control so you didn't have to change batteries. To me that would make more sense. I just didn't hook up the remote control in the wall. I just use it as a stand alone remote control so when the batteries die , I can replace them with ease. The other problem is that the remote comes standard ready to install in the wall, so it has wires sticking out of it and mounting hardware attached to it. You can cut the wires and remove the mounting hardware (which is what I have done), but you have to have the right tools to do it. One nice thing is that you can buy an additional remote control (with wires and and hardware attached and pair it with the fan. This way you have two remotes in case you lose one. They are not cheap, about $50 on Amazon or Home Depot. So far I like this fan, it can take water directly on it and I don't have to worry about the blades warping over time, however I think it I had to do it all over again I would have gotten a cheaper damp rated fan with pull chains instead of this fan. If you need a truly wet rated fan this is a good fan minus the remote setup.

Frustrated and disappointed that I had an electrician install three of these in my home. The fan is well built (noted by the electrician) but the battery-required remote and dim integrated LED light are disappointing. My wife and kids have all complained that the light is so dim that it doesn't make sense to use it. I'll have to purchase more lamps to make this installation usable for my family. We all love the look of these fans. The wall remote will be difficult to replace AAA batteries for and it's hard to find the 'on' buttons when the room is dark. Personally, the light puts out about as much brightness that I would expect at a normal half-dimmer. My family members have all asked if there were some upgrades that we could purchase to fix the light and the wall remotes. Unfortunately, these seem to be the top of the line. The fans do look good. There is a hum when the fan is running - louder than the previous fans that we replaced - but no one has complained about that yet.

Beautiful, quiet, and most importantly no sign yet of rusting ' and we live on the ocean.

I love the way this fan is designed. It's plastic but the blades are super strong and won't droop because they interlock when mounted for extra strength. The sleek modern look and a light that dims is perfect for sitting in the rockers. The updated look is great. color is a little darker than expected but I like it better. The wall control fit right in like it was designed to do. I like it because now I don't have to remember which switch is for porch and which for floodlights. I've been guessing wrong for most of the past 19 years. Great CMF too...even my Texas Mosquito approves! We're using or porch rockers more now.

Great outdoor fan! Super quiet! Tons of wind! I bought three of them for a 45x12 patio. Plenty of lighting and cooling.

I love the style of this fan and that there is finally a fan that doesn't look outdated. I also love the switch for the wall that controls light level and fan speed. The only thing I thought could be a little nicer was the lens looks a little cheap but it is acrylic. Maybe only way to fix that would be to do frosted glass I think. Hunter makes amazing fans and this one is no exception!

It outputs a very nice breeze and helps alleviate the heat that has been pouring into our sunporch. Definitely love the indoor/outdoor capabilities, so that moisture from the humidity in the area won't bow the blades.

I will say it’s amazing because I can be outside n the evening drinking my wine and reading or hanging with friends and have light but also stay cool during the hot nights. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hunter makes a great ceiling fan. I needed to upgrade my daughters fan so my husband installed this one. It is a indoor outdoor fan. It looks nice and functions very well. It gives a good breeze that is actually cooling. Installation was a little frustrating because the screws that it came with were aluminum and bent easily. We ended up having to use our own screws. Other than that, it was an easy install. The fan runs on slow, medium and high. It does not have an adjustment for winter and summer. It only goes in one direction, but we are fine with that since we only use it for cooling. The light is bright. There is a handy remote wall switch which also allows me to dim the light. Overall, we are pleased with the look, quality and function of this fan. It is a quiet fan as well.

Using the instructions in the box, my husband was able to install this fan with my help fairly easily. Everything on this fan kit fit together perfectly and it worked great on the first try. The fan puts out a nice, cool breeze. The light is soft which creates a nice atmosphere. The switch controls both the light and the fan without the need for cords. When I install fans in the rest of my house, I’m going to be getting Hunter fans.

I love the sleek design and I really like the control panel that can be attached to make turning the lights on and off easier and the fan speed adjustment easier. This fan was not difficult to install. You can mount this fan fairly close to the ceiling. The control/remote was easy to install as well. The light is dimmable and the fan has multiple speed settings. We would definitely get another ceiling fan like this when we are ready to upgrade existing fixtures.

The light at its brightest is perfect for a bedroom, or porch. Its perfect for our master bedroom with the dimming feature. The setup took about two hours you have to install the switch and the fan is amazing quiet and moves beautifully I am extremely happy with all features of this fan I would love one in every room.
