Terrible, flimsy shelf that feels like it's going to come apart at any moment. Don't buy it - you'll regret it.

Very cheap product. It fell apart the first time we put it up. Very wobbly even though we put our own best screws and the foot broke so fast.

These shelves arrived quickly and were fairly easy to put together. I’m not quite sure why other reviews state that it took some buyers an entire day to assemble, it took us about an hour to put two of them together. Some reviews are also noting that their shelves collapsed. We haven’t had any issues with that (and hopefully won’t!), but I will say that these shelves are quite wobbly. Even with every piece fully tightened they still sway with the slightest touch. We did mount them to the wall, but we had to buy a different wall mount kit because the one that comes with the shelves is too short to actually reach the wall past the baseboard. My main complaint is that the color is WAY off. The picture shows a light green, the shelves we received are almost black. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend these shelves. For almost $300 a shelf, you can surely find something that’s sturdier and made better.
Such a frustrating purchase

Horrible feet on the bottom of this shelfing unit. When we stood it up one of the feet actually cracked. Just to salvage it we had to glue and add additional screws to put it back together. Then anchor it to the wall not only at the top but also at the bottom. I can't even express how aggravating it was to do all that work putting it together to have it fail because of the poor design of the feet.
Great fit

So disappointed in this. I know you “get what you pay for” but I put this together YESTERDAY and one of the base legs has already fallen apart. It was assembled correctly, it appears the cheap MDF material used to make it that you screw the bottom legs into was stripped out (even though I only screwed the leg in once, and correctly). I’m going to have to wood/super glue the thing together, which is disappointing considering it’s BRAND NEW I’m very handy and have built a lot of furniture in my day, this is not an assembly problem, this is a super super cheap material problem

All it took was 1 move and this thing fell apart like a house of cards. If you never move this and keep heavier items on bottom shelf (I had a Canon printer), then you're golden. Moving guys came and were not rough, this thing broke apart when they wrapped it for protection lol. Don't waste the money.
Not sure if i recieved a defective shelf

Seemed okay but the more we put it together the more we noticed scuffs. After a few weeks its started to bow and seem unstable. Hardly even have anything on it so, disappointed

I was in love with this bookshelf... until it collapsed and almost fell on me. It is cheaply made, and if yours comes crashing down too, Target will not be responsible. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this bookshelf. And avoid Target—they will not stand behind what they sell.

We'd been looking for months for the right piece for our entryway. I Googled "open blue bookcase" and this popped up. I ordered it using my Target Circle awards and a gift card. And it was on sale! I paid less than $100 and we could not be more pleased.
Good looking... but disposable :/

Way too short - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
Very dissapointed by the quality and the rickity / flimsy design and construction. Good looking shelf! BUT almost non-functional and can not hold much weight at all. The design of the bookcase puts all the weight on the small, intermediate legs, positioned on top of WAY too thin shelves. Thus, the shelves bow downward and the whole shelf racks back and forth. You can see how far off from square the shelves are as they bend down in the pic where I'm holding a picture frame up to it (this is the same day as assembly and afte putting some stuff on it). I don't even have it close to full of books. Also, finish is already scratching, and I haven't even had it for a week. Unless you plan to display stuffed animals on this, sadly - hard pass. I should have listened the reviews. It feels so wasteful both of money and environmental costs to buy something that seems a hairsbreadth from breaking immediately.
Great Looking Shelf!

Love the shelf! The green is way better in person than in the photos in my opinion. It’s close in the photos but much richer in real life. Would recommend it if it’s your aesthetic!

Pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this bookshelf turned out to be. I actually bought two units to make a 4 tier bookshelf rather than 3 and it was very easy to do, I just took the middle shelf from the second unit and put it in between the middle and top shelf of the first unit. If anyone else is considering doing the same it comes out to just under 79” high, I had to do some math to make sure it wouldn’t be too tall before I ordered so I thought I’d save someone else the trouble. Also a couple of the legs did have some minor damage too them, mostly just surface level scratches/scuffs which wasn’t a problem to hide, I just put those pieces to the back of the bookshelf.

Assembled walnut finish item on Friday and it has an extremely toxic smell. Left window open with ceiling fan on high to air out but hasn't helped.

I absolutely love this bookshelf. It looks great and was easy to assemble by myself. Knocking 1 star off for quality since one of my side panels was gouged, but it’s not visible when put together so not a huge deal.

Bought the bookcase after loving the TV console. Perfect mid century style. Study and holds a lot.
