There is a piece of tape, which is installed during shipping to protect the battery and has to be removed from the battery panel. Q: I don't think the solar lights work. They do not come on at night?

A: Rachel: Please confirm you have tried to turn them on using the switch on the rib. Please also check the battery in the solar panel on the top of the canopy. There is a piece of tape (installed during shipping to protect the battery) that has to be removed from the battery panel. If these options do not work please return the umbrella to Target for a replacement Thanks
