This is a really good looking bookcase/shelf. The quality of the product is ok for the price. However, the instructions were terrible because the hardwares weren’t labeled. It took me a total of 4 hours to assemble it since I had to keep flipping the pages to figure out which hardware was the correct one. Pictures for the assembling instructions weren’t clear neither. The end product was good though. I ended up ordering different drawer pulls to match with the rest of the room.

horrible purchase! shorter than expected, shelves are very small, took over 4 hours to put all the pieces together, and was unable to assemble drawers because pieces would not fit. Returning to the store and for the money would not suggest this purchase to anyone.

The bookshelf was a little complex to put together even with instructions (lots of steps within steps) but the bookshelf looks great and holds plenty of heavy items!

I bought this bookcase in the espresso. The color is a dark brown and is beautiful!! It's not real wood, but it's sturdy.

Building this piece was no easy task but because I am not a newbie to building furniture, it wasn't a headache either. There are a lot of pieces and if you are new to this, it can be a bit overwhelming. If you take your time (took me about 3hrs by myself) and follow the instructions, you will end up with a gorgeous bookcase. The drawers can be tricky to assemble but if you get it right, there will be no issues with them. I recommend this bookcase. It does not take up a lot of space in my living room which is exactly what I was looking for and can hold quite a lot of books and any other items you want to showcase. The drawers are strong and of good size. I am very pleased with this item.

Pretty piece of furniture. But the quality is not the best. The drawers get stuck. And the instructions are terrible. Just a bunch of pictures that are hard to see the details. I put the rollers on wrong as I was following the pictures just to find on the next page they had the rollers now facing the opposite way. For the rollers to work, i had to remove and redrill. No big deal, just wish the instructions were better. Also the hardware is not labeled so it took extra time to figure out which hardware went to which piece. Also not the best quality for the more than $200 spent.

I purchased this bookcase in the Espresso finish. My review is exactly like most of the ones posted. The actual piece is beautiful and looks great in my bedroom between two windows. I assembled the case by myself which wasn't too difficult. (I did have to ask my toddler to hold the drawer hardware in place at one point while I tightened the screws). What made installation easiest was laying all the parts out in the order they were labeled. As one other reviewer commented, it would have been easier if the hardware were labeled as well. The hardest parts to install were the drawers as the diagrams provided little direction and all 8 pieces were labeled with the same letter. I also have an issue with the drawer sticking (which makes me wonder if I assembled it correctly). I used the wood glue (included but not mentioned in the instructions) to shore up the base of the drawer. Bottom line, I'm considering purchasing this again for my office and would recommend to others. Just be aware, especially for novice installers, that this is not a snap and go product and will take some time and patience to assemble.

I honestly can't recommend this product. It comes in way too many pieces and is extremely difficult to assemble. We eventually gave up on the drawers. The directions are not particularly helpful either. In retrospect I would not order this even if it were free. Spend more money and get a better quality product.

Love everything about this shelf except the assembly. Many pieces with difficult to read directions. I'd do it all again for the end product though.

I bought two of these for my bedside tables. The first one took forever to put together because the instructions are not clear. The parts are labeled, which thank goodness, but the instructions are only pictures. And while most of it goes together fine once you figure out the difference between the million different screw types and organize the numerous pieces — the drawer reviews above are no joke. In the end, the first set assembled works great. The second set's drawers I need to tackle again today because they are janky and I'm not happy about it. Tips for the drawers — I recommend putting together step 9 (16 + 17 with the rails) first. If only to understand which rails go on the pieces 8 + 9. The holes will line up to confirm you're doing it right. And the numbers on the rails should be facing up when complete (which based on the instructions, note you're putting it together upside down). A beautiful piece once assembled. Instructions were a little frustrating, but the piece is certainly worth the value!

Bookcase is beautiful after a lot of ughs putting together. They could have put some of it together before it shipped put it was literally in pieces. Together now and loving it!

Compared to similar bookshelves great price! I love the drawers and it is pretty sturdy.

Favorite part: color! Practical for my needs, yet stylish; especially since, I'm not a decorator. Unfortunately, directions were horrible and too tiny to read; I had to decipher the non-descript picture called directions. I was unsuccessful in putting the drawers together, so will be purchasing baskets to fill the space previously reserved for the drawers. I gave all the drawer pieces to my friend, if he's able to put the drawers together then I'll use the baskets for something else.

It really is a beautiful piece! Beware if you don't have patience in putting things together! I love to assemble things but this one took me a minute! The furniture pieces were marked, the screws etc were not...more than once did I use the wrong piece...I'd suggest marking them before you start...it was worth it though...it looks great!

This is a beautiful bookcase. It took some time to build, of course. It is not real wood but looks like it from a distance. The only downside is that the white stickers to cover the screws keep peeling off.

This item is great but lacks significant details in the assembly instructions department. You have to have a working knowledge of putting furniture like this together to understand the concept because the instructions are not detailed enough and not clear so if this is your first piece you will have A significant amount of struggle and frustrate Chin during the assembly.

As the other review notes, the install instructions were not good. However, we managed to get it right and the final product is just the look I wanted. The brown is a very deep brown and matches the picture. It looks great next to our black furniture. One other caveat - the dimensions are wrong. It is actually 26 inches wide and 17 inches deep, unless you turn it sideways and lose use of the drawers. So we have to do some re-arranging to make this work. However, it looks really nice and brings the room together.
