My, how Sauder has declined in quality and precision.

Can't think of anything that is "great" about it. Not only can I not think of anything "great" about this product, I can't think of anything even remotely "good". I just purchased a Sauder model 426414, a bookcase with doors at the bottom. I made this purchase because I bought one 15 years ago and was impressed. Unfortunately, this was not a similar experience. The assembly instructions are, at times, vague. The precision of manufacture is less than what it should/could be. The design is abysmal - The doors only open 90 degrees. My other bookcase doors open 180 degrees. Making it a two piece product (upper and lower halves) makes it less rigid making a strap to the wall at the top of the bookcase essential yet the strap Sauder provided is completely inadequate for the task. I had to purchase two metal L-Brackets to ensure safety. Truth be told, it's a piece of junk and I'm stuck with. I'm totally disappointed and dissatisfied with the decline of Sauder and it's product. I would expect and hope for some financial remuneration from Sauder to compensate me for this horrific experience but I'm not holding my breath. It is intuitively obvious to even the casual observer that any company with a business model that mandates going "on the cheap" doesn't care about customer satisfaction or me.

We love this bookcase. The color was even better than excepted. It was easy to assemble. The doors can be adjusted to close nicely. It's a great addition to our living room.

I'm very happy with the product, good quality and easy to put together, I am a woman, over 60 and I was able to put it together on my own without any problems in a few hours.
This was a surprisingly nicer product than expected.

This bookshelf for my office in my newly purchased home was much nicer and better quality than expected. The finish, while an artificial lamination, was very nice in texture and color. The bookcase didn't have the fake look and feel of a laminated wood product at all. The bookcase was relatively easy to assemble with excellent and clear instructions. It is a wonderful addition to the look and functionality of my new office space in my home. It doesn't look like the typical pressed wood product.

This bookcase fits perfectly in my office. It gives me just enough storage space and some shelves for books and knickknacks. It is well made for the price point.

Seems pretty sturdy for the most part. The cabinet doors don't have magnets and you definitely need to anchor to the wall. Color is nice and it holds a lot of stuff so it's good in my 10 year old's room.

Using it for books, LPs, and knick knacks. The looks and product quality are very good. Instructions and assembly were right on. Only minor issue with squaring the doors with the hinges.

It is a nice bookcase. The only things I would change are the side pieces. There should be one single side piece extending from the top of the bookshelf to the bottom instead of two. That would give the bookshelf more stability.

I like the product. It need to have warning between steps 16/17 not to push accidentally down while nailing the back. Both side uneven when turn upside down and it will snap in the middle if pushed down. Need to have something underneath for support. It did snap on one side for me when getting up and accidentally pressed down. Had to use screws to secure top and bottom on one side.

Highly breakable material and constructuion

The "engineering" wood used in this model is highly breakable. The bookcase consists of two rather big and heavy parts connected just by four (two left side and two right side) cam screws with ~ 8 mm length in the "wood" material. The model is easy assembled in horizontal position, When I tried to put it in vertical position, the bookcase has been broken and two its part separated. Main parts have been broken at places of cam connections. If you like this model use a lot of epoxy glue for assembling.
