It breaks and damages wall/tile

As other reviews mention, this rod does not hold tension, and the adhesive on each end provides nothing more than a false sense of security. Even trying to get it to tighten into place was a chore. After a couple weeks (of thinking it was securely in place), it came crashing down on my son when he was showering. I was grateful it didn’t split his head open, but it did hurt him.

Bought this to hold a shower curtain and cover the glass doors attached to my bathroom walls and bathtub in my rental. It came crashing down in the middle of the night despite having non-slip stickers on each end. The tension part of this tension rod is nonexistant and it just slips down the wall.

Rod lasted 4 months before it fell down. Thought I’d go buy replacement adhesive until I noticed the finish completely rubbed off from the curtain rings.

Unfortunately, it will not stay up. It falls every few weeks no matter how tight you get it on the shower walls.

I think that this curtain rod looks nice. Sturdy enough without having to mount it into the wall. You can secure it with the double sided tape if you choose. It goes up easy with no tools or drilling but comes with the screws and anchors if you prefer to do it that way. I liked it enough that I purchased a second one.

It’s nice & all but I cannot get it to stay using the tension technique which sucks. Keeps falling down minutes after I put it up. I didn’t want to put holes in my wall but I looks like I will have to mount it using the screws.

Fell twice within 2 months and completely broke the second time. The gold was also flaking off like crazy.

After wrestling with this shower curtain rod and needing to exert a LOT of force to get to the tension to engage, it stayed up for a few weeks before falling in the middle of the night. Something inside must have broken because it cannot hold tension at all anymore. I tested it on a door frame to see if my problem was my shower's tile; nope, it's done. Seeing other people saying theirs have the finish chipping or wearing off, I can see mine already is, too. I will be returning it.

Initially, I thought this shower rod was perfect, but in a few weeks of use the finish started chipping off. I now have owned it for about four months and it continues to flake off. The base color is more of a silver. It’s not obvious as guests don’t have a tendency to look up, but if I pointed it out, it is noticeable. If I knew it was going to do this I would not have purchased it.

Worst design ever. Absolutely no tension and would not stay up. Tried for so long and multiple times. Even looked at the video instructions. Don’t waste your time or money.

This rod does not work as a tension rod. No matter how much I tried, I could not get it to stay put, and it actually began to damage the pint and walls (brand new, btw). Absolute garbage, and I’m extremely disappointed with Target for selling it.

Did not hold up after 2 weeks. The need for adhesive on the ends of the rod were a red flag, of course it couldn’t stay up by tension alone and predictably fell once the moisture from the shower wore down the adhesive. Who designed this?

This thing keeps falling, so frustrating

I purchased one and it worked perfectly. I purchased a second days later for a different bathroom and it did not work. I returned it and purchased another to replace the broken one. It appeared brand new in the box (otherwise I would not have bought it). You have to rip parts of the box to remove the shower curtain. It was completely untampered. I got home, opened it in hopes to finally hang the curtain in my son's bathroom and it was very clearly used. There are stickers on the ends to help the tension hold. The layer you have to remove for the stickers was gone and the sticker part had pieces of someone elses wall attached to it. There's also a "Quick Start" sticker on the rod (I know this from the rod that did work) that was very cleraly removed. It was missing and most blatantly the glue residue was there. This was blantanly a used rod. How this got back into a package that looked untampered is shocking. I think I got lucky with the first one that works. I love Target but do not buy this.
