A: Hello Angela - Thanks for stopping by! The adhesives are not necessary for installation of the product, and were added for a while to help ensure each endcap was contacting the wall during the installation process. By following the steps below, the item can be reinstalled simply and easily without the adhesive being necessary: 1. Twist the rod to unlock and remove from current installation. 2. To reinstall, turn endcaps down fully onto the rod before beginning. 3. Extend the rod into new location and ensure endcaps are touching the walls. 4. Twist the two rods in opposite directions to lock the length in place. 5. Twist the small diameter rod toward you to apply tension until it is secure in place. The worst shower curtain rod I’ve ever used in my life. The ends spin right off without even touching them, the sticky pads wore away before I even got it up on the wall, and the rod refuses to tighten or stay at the length you need it to. Absolute waste of money

Okay, so I read reviews only AFTER I purchased this rod. I bought it for the look and the price. The reviews about installation were right...boy was it challenging. I read the directions and gave it a go, unsuccessfully. I couldn't get it to lock no matter how much I turned, the tape/glue on the ends rubbed off immediately due to all the movements I made during my trying. I lost my patience and took a break and watched to how-to video. I tried again. I don't feel like I did anything differently EXCEPT, turning both sides of the bar TOWARDS me after my attempt to lock the skinny side. The rod is not exactly where I want it but I'm afraid to take it down for fear of not being able to accomplish it again. It feels secure right now and I love the brushed nickel color. I don't know if I'd buy it again unless I knew I had help to install and if you buy this, I hope you have your patience intact for the day.

I really wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I spent all week on a bathroom refresh and was so excited to put in the finishing touches. It looked good for the 4 hours it was up but it’s exactly like the other reviews said. It crashed just as I got in bed. Ends won’t stay on. They literally just spin themselves off without barely even touching it. Won’t tighten and the sticky is already gone. Huge waste of time and effort. DO NOT BUY. This thing I such a rip off.

Dangerous. Target should recall these. I bought two of these. They are not really tension, just held with cheap sticky tape. Both rods fell within months. One of them fell on me while bathing our baby. If that rod hit my child’s head this would be a lawsuit instead of a bad review. DO NOT BUY THESE.

Disappointed Dad: Please note these rods DO NOT HOLD IN PLACE using the sticky tape. Please reference the instructions included with the rod set or the instructional video. As with any tension rod, the rod must be twisted to tighten. The purpose of the tape is to assist with the tensioning process only.

If you like to hear random things crashing the middle of the night then this is perfect for you! These do not hold AT ALL and the rubber/sticky grip comes off the first time you even try.

Exceedingly frustrating design. Tension does not work and fell multiple times during install. The adhesive material quickly rubbed off on the end. A good reminder that the quality of products at Target is getting worse not better - I'll be sure to go elsewhere next time for home goods.

I had a different shower curtain rod that has literally been up for probably 10 years! It was time to replace it. I INSTALLED this correctly and very tightly and it falls within 24 hours of being put back in place. The "tape" is sliding down the face of placement. You failed target, no more blaming the installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chrome curtain rod was paired with my pre-lit garland for the perfect addition to our decor this year. I was missing something over my large window and this rod was the perfect size. I did not use the tension, instead I placed the chrome rod on top of old casings above my window. It looks beautiful and when the holiday season is over, I’ll be able to take it down, disassemble it and not have it take up a bunch of space. I may even change out the lights to make it themed for every holiday. I have a few doorways where the tension rod will come in very handy!
