Q: Why is the back width (64) different from the seat width (57.5)? I am 5 feet and 4 inches and need the sofa to be at least 64 inch wide so I can lie down. Is it 64 or 57.5?

A: Hi! This sofa comes shipped in 1 single box that measures 36" x 26" x 31". Inside are: 4 structural pieces (2 seat frames and 2 back frames), 2 seat cushions, 2 seat covers, 2 back cushions, and 2 back cushion covers. The seat frames are the largest pieces and each measure 36.5"L x 32.5" W x 18.75" H. The hardware, legs, cushions and covers are contained within the bottom compartments of the seat frames.

this sofa is beautiful, but it is not comfortable. I took some of the "stuffing" out of the back cushions and that helped a bit. this sofa also arrived broken in one of the wooden slats in the base. target support was unhelpful in getting a replacement and only offered a 30% refund. I never would have purchased this for 30% off, so I don't think that's acceptable. like I said, it looks great in my room but is uncomfortable and broken.

Pros: easy to assemble, good for a small space, good color.
Cons: after only four months of light to moderate use, the fabric is piling. The back cushions don't hold shape well. It's really shallow so not that comfortable.
Overall, would not recommend and would not buy again.

I was originally looking for something small to sit on in a basement office, something like a futon or the like. I stumbled on this while browsing and found it to be a better fit. It's got memory foam cushions and comes in a conveniently sized box. One of my biggest problems is the space in itself isn't all that small, but it's near impossible to get a full size couch down the stars and make the immediate 90 degree turn. So whatever I got would have to come in multiple pieces. This was perfect for that very reason. It sits in front of a wall mounted TV and fills up the room nicely. It's very sturdy and can easily hold two full grown adults and not feel cramped. Kudos to Serta for filling the gap in my basement office.
