Q: Can you use a steak knife on these without leaving cut marks or scratches?

A: You can't use any kind of metal utensils on these without leaving scratches. Even the soft side of a sponge will leave very fine scratches. The surface is high-gloss, so it's very slick, and food slides around like it's on an ice rink. I love my plates, but I hardly use them because of all of the above issues. The best way to keep them looking nice is to use them for cold foods that don't stain, like sandwiches or breads, and to use wood or plastic utensils lightly (no carving or high impact).

I purchased these with the intention of using with the coordinating dinner plates for al fresco dinners this summer. They did not dissapoint. The neutral tones are beautiful, as is the organic shape. Theyve been through the dishwasher already, and I love knowing they are sturdy enough to withstand all my kids!

Love the durability of the melamine plastic. Love that they are dishwasher safe. I know they are not microwave safe but that’s ok. I just need these because we had so many plate break on our tile floor because our three kids have accidents. This is to help diminish the clean up of shattered plates. Love the look of pottery and they are much more gray in real life than online but I’m ok with it.

I absolutely love these! I ordered multiple packs to use for the holidays and I had many guests ask about them. They are so beautiful and look much more expensive than they are! We have a lot of young kids in the family so this was also a great alternative to breakable glass dishes.

This Bamboo-melamine material is SO cool, it is lightweight like plastic, but has a more beautiful texture. I always buy ceramic for the look, then chip it. This might be the solution! The color of these is definitely more of a light gray than a cream, but I actually prefer it!
