Description

About the Book

In a world that revels in outrage and embarrassing others, Christians know they are supposed to "be loving" instead--but how? In her much-anticipated debut trade book, compelling and sought-after Bible teacher Jada Edwards schools us all on how to transform our relationships (by releasing the 4 limits holding back our experience of God's love and adopting 5 clear ways to be loving to those around us (namely, to be curious, free, brave, resilient, and real).

Book Synopsis

Do you consider yourself to be a loving person? Do you ever wonder how to show a more loving version of yourself toward your family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers? It may sound simple, but loving others well is layered and comes with many challenges. It's more than emotion or affection. It's more than having things in common. Love is a divinely empowered choice to act in a favorable way toward another.

Christians know they're supposed to love God and their neighbors, but why is this so hard to do consistently, and what does this look like in everyday life? How does this kind of love show up? First, it has to be understood from God's perspective, not our culture's. Then we have to act on what we know to be true regardless of how we feel about it.
This book isn't about making friends, acts of kindness, romance, or marital love. It's about redefining love from God's perspective and discovering its divine power.
In her much-anticipated debut book, Bible teacher Jada Edwards invites you on a journey to transform your relationship with God and people (even before you like them). We often underestimate God's idea of love, but with the right definition and intentional action, everything can change--in any relationship. In this book, you'll discover:

  • Four limits holding you back from fully experiencing God's love
  • How to shift from earthly definitions of love to the divine definition
  • How to be curious, free, brave, resilient, and real in all your relationships

Review Quotes

"Jada Edwards lives and breathes the kind of authentic, courageous faith that inspires me to run harder after Jesus--her voice and friendship are a gift to my life."
-- Jennie Allen, Founder and Visionary of IF: Gathering and Gather25, NYT Bestselling Author

"I have had the joy of knowing Jada Edwards for four decades, and I can say with confidence that she lives what she teaches. Her messages, whether spoken or written, carry the weight of tested, prayerful experience. And her book A New Way to Love Your Neighbor is no different. It is filled with the maturity and wisdom that this sacred topic requires. Each chapter will remind you of the holy calling that is tethered to the interpersonal relationships the Lord has entrusted to you, and then it will refocus you back on the fundamental virtues that cultivate healthy and fulfilling relational dynamics. In an era when vitriol has replaced old-school kindness and being 'right' has become more important than offering respect, Jada's words will be a compass pointing us all back home--to one another. To love. Read this with a pen in your hand and an openness in your heart. You will be challenged, encouraged and transformed."
-- Priscilla Shirer, Going Beyond Ministries

"We are living in deeply chaotic and divisive times where relational fractures abound. In A New Way to Love Your Neighbor, Jada Edwards offers timely and timeless wisdom on how to receive the endless love of God so that we can pour out His love endlessly. This book will strengthen all of your relationships."
-- Christine Caine, Founder A21 & Propel Women

"Jada has given us a gift and a necessary lesson on love. In A New Way to Love Your Neighbor, she masterfully uncovers what is at the core of our relationship struggles: we don't have a 'like issue, ' we have a 'love issue.' Delivered in her quintessential down-to-earth teaching style and with biblical truth and compassion, Jada helps us discover what may be limiting our ability to love well while also pointing us to the New Way of lovingand to the source of true love--God.If you want to receive love and courageously give love, and if you want the quality of your relationships to improve, get ready to do some good heart work and receive the blessings, freedom, and joy that come when you learn to love like the Lord."
-- Dr. Sarita T. Lyons, Speaker, Bible Teacher, Church Leader, Psychotherapist, and Author of USA Today Bestselling Book, Church Girl
