Cole masterfully captures the innocence and passion of young love while weaving in heavier themes of grief and acceptance. Her writing is lyrical and immersive, making it nearly impossible not to shed tears as Poppy and Rune’s story unfolds. The dual perspective narration allows readers to deeply connect with both characters, making their joys and heartbreaks feel personal. What sets this novel apart is its message; life is fleeting, but love can leave an indelible mark that lasts forever. While the story does delve into sorrow, it ultimately serves as a reminder to embrace life’s beauty and cherish the moments that matter most.

It was good at the beginning, then the middle made me a little bored and I felt as though I had to force myself to get through it. I get this is a YA book and is meant ti be romantic, but it had a point where it was a little too much on the “I love you.” I eventually skimmed through a few pages, however I did like the ending and the bonus material. Not sure if i’ll be reading the next book though. Everyone said it would make me bawl my eyes out and it was so sad but I think it was more so just at the beginning of the book and a little at the end. I shed a few tears but definitely didn’t cry the whole book like others said I would! Overall I think it’s a good book, just overhyped.
I dont love it

Still deciding…. It has taken me a while to finish reading this book. Usually if its good Ill read it in two days or less, its been two weeks. I love romance but I think this book over does it. I keep catching my self rolling my eyes, I have skimmed through pages which I dont usually do. I dont want to give up on the book but I might have to. Still deciding, not sure if I like it, I don’t love it for sure.
The best book of 2024 so far
