Rated 3 stars for me. This book explores the sunshine x grumpy trope, with Gretchen as the grumpy one and Colton as the sunshine. Gretchen, a lawyer from a wealthy family, despises Christmas, while Colton, a famous country music artist, embraces the holiday spirit. Despite Colton's affection for Gretchen, she remains resistant. The story is cute, filled with warm moments, Christmas vibes, drama, a touch of spice, and the dynamic of a grumpy sunshine pair along with a celebrity element. However, Gretchen's stubbornness and constant efforts to prove she’s not like her family can be frustrating. The reason behind Colton's strong attraction to her isn't quite explained, making their connection feel somewhat unrealistic. Gretchen, as a character, was challenging to relate to. Disappointingly, Gretchen's lack of self-defense against her brother's actions and the underwhelming grand gesture and ending were drawbacks. The story felt very one sided and Gretchen seemed emotionless most of the time. Despite these issues, the book had its charm. The side characters, particularly from the bromance club, added cuteness. While some scenes were cheesy, Colton embodied qualities every woman desires in a man—loyalty, love, and protectiveness. I don’t have an opinion on recommendation.
