Q: Do your cows spend all their life in the barn or do they have free range time?

submitted by Chele - 4 years ago
  • A: The humane treatment of animals is of the utmost importance to us. All our farms are trained and audited for the humane treatment of animals by Validus. Our cows are not treated with growth hormone rBST.

submitted byBrand Expert - 3 years ago

Q: Is this milk non gmo?

submitted by Oz - 13 days ago
  • A: Except our Grassfed milk, some of our cows’ diet could include GMO corn. An adequate diet that is free from any genetically modified ingredients is hard to come by in large quantities in the USA. We require that our farmers feed their cows an all-vegetarian, plant-based diet and are independently certified by the Validus Group for animal welfare. Our a2 Milk® Grass Fed is Non-GMO Project Verified.

Q: Is this casein free?

submitted by KK - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi there, all a2 Milk® products are not casein free. There are two main types of beta-caseins: A1 and A2 beta-casein protein. Most cows’ milk sold in the US naturally contains a blend of A1 and A2 proteins. Our milk is sourced from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein type and no A1. Q: Is a2 milk shelf stable? Does it need refridgeration?

submitted by Betty H - 1 year ago
  • A: a2 Milk is an Ultra-Pasteurized milk that does need refrigeration

Q: In a question above, you stated this is not a UHT milk, but your label says "ultra-pasteurized." Isn't that UHT milk?

submitted by DFR - 2 years ago
  • A: While similar, our milk is Ultra-Pasteurized (UP) which means it is heated to a minimum of 280f, and held for 2 seconds. UHT is where milk is heated to temperatures between 275f-300f for a minimum of 2 seconds then its cooled.

Q: Is this milk 3.25% homogenized?

submitted by Lilly - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi there, our milk is 3.5 %. We add a little extra to cover the California requirements. Homogenization is a process used to blend the natural fat found in milk, throughout the fluid portion of milk so it doesn’t separate when it sits on the shelf. Homogenized milk generally has a longer shelf life than un-homogenized milk. Most milk available in the US is homogenized.

Q: Is this milk organic?

submitted by steve - 4 years ago
  • A: HI Steve, a2 Milk® is real cows’ milk. While we’re not seeking organic certification at this point, our milk is free of growth hormone rBST. In addition, all our family farms are independently certified by the Validus Group to ensure they meet strict animal welfare guidelines.

Q: 1)Can you tell the variety of cows you have that are being used to produce this milk? 2) Does this milk only lacks A1 casein protein but otherwise has all nutrients?

submitted by Divya - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Divya, a2 Milk® is a naturally occurring cows’ milk and we don't do anything to the cows to get A1 free milk. We test the cows and select cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein type and no A1. It is genetics like having brown eyes versus blue eyes. Our milk comes from Holstein and Jersey cows and contains all of the regular nutrients you would find in conventional milk. For more information, please visit https://www.a2milk.com/ourstory

Rotten milk. I usually don’t buy this brand, but they ran out of the Target brand. I was quickly reminded why we stopped buying this milk 3 yrs ago. My son who is not lactose intolerant got sick with diarrhea and nausea from this milk. At the time I thought maybe he just had a weak stomach. But here we are 3 yrs later and my husband tried it and it was rotten. For the price, this isn’t worth it.

I had ordered 5 but got only one. There was an offer "Save $15 when you spend $75 on Food & Beverages ". When I ordered the total was $105.15. Since 4 cartons of milk had to be taken off the total due to unavailability, it became $87.99 which is still more than $75 requirement to get $15 off. But I got only $12.56 instead of $15. When I called, the rep was very rude and said she is not going to change to $15 and told me supevisor was unavailable.

We have been purchasing this milk for a couple months now on and off with horizon. Today I opened a fresh container (not set to expire until May) and it was ROTTEN! I don’t drink milk but bought it for my 1 year old. I have it to him on 3 occasions today and he did not drink it. I thought it was weird but I finally tried it on the third try and it was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted. I felt so bad for giving it to him and not trying it sooner. Not sure what happened with this batch.

I was initially skeptical about it helping aid digestion, but it really does. I can drink this milk without any tummy issues. And it tastes better than most other milk brands. Only complaint is that is pricey, so I usually stock up when it's on sale.

I'm sitting here breastfeeding my baby with cow's milk protein allergy. I tried every alternative milk out there, but they are all disgusting and made me feel horrible because I wasn't getting protein. I can finally have milk and my baby's poops look wonderful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always had issues with drinking milk, I love it and it hurts me. This milk was easy on my stomach and I didn't have any issues digesting it, it tastes like real milk because it is real milk. I was able to finally have milk and cookies without any bloating or gas. If you're lactose intolerant you should try this milk. I highly recommend a2 Milk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the flavor, I was excited to try this because I had read about it while learning about the food map diet due to some food intolerances I have. Might be difficult to switch from regular milk to this because of price differences but I might be able budget it in somehow if I can actually get my significant other to make the switch from regular whole milk to this.

Great value for non-irritating milk! I have one daughter that is sensitive to milk-sore tummy after drinking other milk. This does not affect her and I buy it for the whole family. Great taste and lasts well in the fridge. It is frequently out of stock and that is my only complaint 😁

I was impressed with the taste; it was fresh and just the right amount of thickness. The best part, I didn't have to worry about my digestive system going crazy because of my lactose intolerance.
