Abstract ABT349 Hand Tufted Area Rug - Safavieh

I ordered the 8ft round Abstract ABT349 Hand Tufted area rug made by Safaviah from Target for $257. The rug arrived with visible water droplets, it was wet and smelling of mold. The musty smell permeated through the entire house. I could smell it from rooms away. This product potentially exposed my home to toxic mold spores creating a health risk. I have asthma and began wheezing and got a headache almost immediately after opening the rug. Customer Service wanted me to transport the large rug in my car to the nearest target for a return. Even if the 8ft rug would fit in my car, I did not want to be in a confined space with the musty odor or expose my vehicle to mold spores. After an hour and being hung up on once, I was able to talk the customer service into coming to pick up the rug AND provide the shipping label. I would understand their request for me to transport the rug back to target if I just didn’t like the product. But this rug was damaged and again posing a health risk to myself, my family and my animals. I do not recommend this product or ordering anything to your home from Target that can not be easily transported back to the store for return. The store will not pick it up without a fight.

Do not buy these rugs. They are still shedding after six months you will have to vacuum every day.

This rug is terrible. The one I received is yellow and shedding all over my house. The smell is terrible, like it’s been aging in a warehouse for years. Don’t do it.

This rug is the worst! It sheds so bad that it’s like living with a pet. I have vacuumed it at least 15 times going over and over it about 5 times one day. I thought that would make a dent in the shedding then my husband did the same thing another day. A week later I did the same thing and now I’m over it. I can’t stand it anymore. I really wanted to love this rug because it’s soft, I like the subtle pattern it has and the color matches my chairs perfect. The fibers are everywhere, our blankets, couches and clothes. I’m vacuuming 1 more time then rolling back up te return it. It took just 5 minutes to filled up the canister.

I’m so sad, this rug is beautiful and fits perfect in our living room. But I’m returning it because it sheds non stop, even after multiple vacuumings. It’s bad! Such a bummer

Beautiful rug, the only thing is that sheds a lot!!! No mater how much do you vacuum and he rug and because I have sensitive skin I will have to return it.

The rug is pretty but much lighter in person than in the picture. There was much more ivory color than blue. We knew it wouldn’t stay clean with kids and a dog.
