Formula has been changed

I've used this product for years and it is no longer as moisturizing as it used to be. It used to sit on top of your skin for a moment before really absorbing in now it doesn't do that and it is not as moisturizing. People are mentioning the oatmeal smell it also didn't used to be like that. FYI to the OG crowd that loved this product it is no longer quite the same. Cheers!

I loved this lotion. It helped my daughter with her eczema since they have changed the formula it doesn't work as well, It's very thin and mostly water now. Water is the first ingredient. Now.

Prior to trying this, the only product that would work for me was a prescription (steroid) topical. Any other lotion I tried wouldn't work. I finally threw out the prescription lotion and was determined to find a safer one. And ACURE finally provided A CURE! Now it did take several days for my skin to get used to this product and for it to work. It didn't instantaneously work like the prescription does. But within a week of putting this on my hands at night before bed, it worked and cleared my skin better than the prescription did! And as far as the smell like many ppl mention, at first the smell was kind of shocking and a little repulsing. BUT, as others have mentioned it is simply just the natural smell of OATMEAL! And honestly, after consistently using the lotion, I actually am totally used to the smell and it's not negative or repulsing at all anymore. Low key it kind of smells good to me now. It's literally the smell of oatmeal! It's just shocking at first. So overall this is an honest review and this product did work and is worth it! I bought it in store at my local Sprouts Store and wanted to write my review here

I work with yarn, embroidery thread and other textile art mediums, my hands get extremely dried out. This lotion soaks in deep, it relieves my itchy dry skin instantly and does not feel greasy at all.

Eczema sufferers, hear me out!

Let me start by saying I have suffered from severe eczema since I was an infant, and tried more lotions/creams/ointments than you would believe. I've used Eucerin, Cerave, Cetaphil, Aveeno, Vanicream… the list goes on. I randomly picked this up at a local health food store to put in my bathroom for guests, tried it out myself, and was *shocked*. Now yes, it does take a hot second to rub in, it goes on white/streaky at first, and there is that distinct oatmeal smell that eczema products often have. But this stuff WORKS. Once rubbed in, you're left with a very soft, not greasy/sticky finish; this is hard to come by in eczema creams, most are so rich and emollient they will not dry down. I am truly mystified at how this can feel so lightweight, and simultaneously leave my skin intensely hydrated. My skin tone is noticeably more even in the past few days of use, eczema patches are nowhere to be found. If you have eczema and are searching for a gorgeous daytime lotion (or nighttime, it really is nourishing enough despite the light texture), look no further!

WHY would you reformulate perfection and turn this lotion into something completely opposite and horrendous? If it was too expensive to manufacture the way it was, INCREASE THE PRICE! I would have gladly paid more if given the option and I’m sure the rest of your faithful customers who reviewed with the same feedback (awful, yellow, rancid smelling, slimy textured product) ALSO would have paid more! Instead, you lost customers. I purchase many additional Acure products but this change has me second guessing the brand in general, so I have zero trust in any products you offer and will not continue using anything made by Acure.

Works well for my eczema/sensitive skin. It is more of a cream consistency than a lotion. Smells good and is non-irritating. I shake it regularly because the oil separates from the other ingredients.

The smell of this lotion is so terrible and the consistency on your skin feels awful. Most eczema lotions are unscented and smooth but this one is just awful. I love this brand but this I had to throw away because it will never be used.

Some years when it gets cold, I get eczema. I was experiencing an itchy red bout, then found this cream. It's gentle and pretty natural and gave my skin the moisture it needed. I was able to leave it alone and the patches improved. I'm currently using it daily and love it!

I love how soothing and moisturizing it is. Definitely helps with my flare ups! The only only downside is I dislike the smell, but that is also a plus because that means its unscented! The smell isn't awful it's just a strong oatmeal smell.

This is the only lotion that works for me since do have really and eczema. It doesn’t have any scents so it won’t irritate my skin. It’s super moisturizing and I don’t have to re-apply until I wash my hands. Highly recommend !

What, Happened, to the original, formula, of the lotion?

So sad - 2 years ago
originally posted on http://acure.com
So this body lotion was something I raved to people because I have bad eczema and no lotion before this would help. This lotion was a miracle. However the last bottle that I bought yesterday (still had the seal on), I opened this morning and nothing but horrible potent chemical smelling water came out, with a little white glop at the bottom. The smell actually stung my eyes. I want to include a picture/video of the water just pouring but I don't think I can attach that here. I think it was a bad batch, or maybe the product separated due to bad storage but honestly reading the other reviews concerns me that they changed the product formula. I just looked at the back, and the order of the ingredients is different (which sometimes indicates how much an ingredient there is in a product). Honestly I'm so sad because this was literally perfection and I used this religiously, but now I just wasted money on this bottle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Waited for almost a month to pass before I reviewed it. It works in that it provides relief whenever my eczema flares up, but I feel like I have to constantly re-apply it throughout the day. I only started looking into this because my usual eczema lotion (an aveeno product) doubled in price as of late. I'm starting to wonder if I should cut my losses and go back.

Smells bad

I thought something was wrong - it smelled like it had gone bad (not "unscented" at all. So I contacted customer care, who was very helpful and sent me a replacement. Same thing - yech. It's also kind of grainy. Anyway, I can't get beyond the rancid smell, alas, so I won't be buying this again.
