Advanced Research/Nutrient Carriers Calcium Orotate 100 Capsules

If you only read the label it will seem that this Calcium Orotate does not supply very much of your daily calcium needs. However, it is so absorb-able that you get more benefit per pill from this than from an awful lot of other brands/types. How can I say this? I have my fingernails and hair to provide actual experience. I never had to cut my nails once a week before taking this brand of calcium, but I do now. The same applies to the frequency of needing haircuts. We each take 2 capsules per day: One in the morning with breakfast and one in the afternoon with our main dinner meal. For age reference and comparison to the effectiveness of this supplement, Hubby is 89 years old and I will soon be 82. We have been using this calcium orotate brand for several years. The only negative I have found over the years is that sometimes the capsules vary in size, meaning there can be more or less of the calcium powder in one. Upon very rare occasions there will be a broken/empty one in a bottle, but normally the capsules are intact and consistent in size. As with other supplements (and food, and everything else), the price has increased noticeably in the past couple of years.

Wonderful product, simple to use does it's job nicely.

I read that calcium orotate is an effective form of calcium, so I wanted to try it, even though there had been no reviews written on it. I am not sure how to test its effectiveness, (so I gave 3 stars for an average rating), but I like the fact that you only have to take 3 capsules to get 1500mg of calcium per serving. Most other calcium supplements require you to take 4 or 5 large tablets. It is pricey, compared to other calcium supplements - it would be nice if Swanson could introduce other manufacturers who also produce calcium orotate, perhaps to offer more competitive prices.
