She is a member of the Board of Directors for The National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) and is a member of the Executive Committee for the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies, home of the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE). Jeanette R. Davidson was honoured in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education: Top 25 Outstanding Women in Higher Education, in 2018, and The Knowledge Review: Inspiring Stories of Women Empowerment, in 2018. She was Director of African and African American Studies at the University of Oklahoma for 15 years. Prior to teaching at the University of Oklahoma, she taught at Columbia University School of Social Work, NY, NY. Jeanette R. Davidson was born in Scotland.
