Al Dettmann Collection - heyday™
About the collection
Al Dettmann is a queer fibers artist focusing on mixed-media & fine art practices. Growing up in Maine they have always been a creative spirit that loves exploring the natural environment and connecting with communities around the world. Earning their BFA in Fibers from Savannah College of Art and Design, they hope to share their love of color, hand-painted textures, and patchwork surfaces with communities of creatives. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Al’s greatest passion is to uplift queer voices through art & design and constantly create wonders that inspire all of us to live our messy lives beautifully, boldly, and authentically.
Inspired by the botanicals of the forest’s floor, bold splashes of color and natural textures combine to tell a whimsical and joyful narrative. The delicate details in this print remind us of the many ways we often overlook our surrounding natural environments.
