Emollient. It's nourishing on my face and hands and I recently used it to heal injured skin after a serious spider bite. I love the purity.

Has a very strong smell, gritty texture looking that smoothes when you rub it in your palm. Did I mention it has a STRONG unpleasant smell?! It smells burnt and expired rancid, to be honest. This balm smells absolutely terrible. I feel like I paid top dollar plus tax and shipping for an expired smelling product.

Great balm to get the benefits of five types of bee products! The blend moisturizes and soothes everywhere I use it. I like this new formula as most of the time the product I bought was grainy and unpleasant to use. I use it mainly for my hands and my face. No fragrance is a bonus!

am in agreement with everyone else - original was AWESOME. I am luck - I actually bought extra jars back then & have stored them in frig. I tried a jar recently - so newer formula - and hate to say it - it sucks. Like everyone else out there - let's make our products with cheaper ingredients and/or missing ones and charge more. Poor quality, etc. Used to be a big fan of this companies products - not anymore. Will no longer purchase anything.

I hate with a passion the smell of sesame seed oil. Now it’s on my face and I can’t escape the smell. Don’t know if it works, but I can’t get past the smell.

I purchased this a couple of years ago, and didn't know what to use it for and placed it in my cabinet. Fast forward to about a week ago, I had been suffering from the WORST scalp seborrheic dermatitis of my life. I bought a REALLY expensive product to help, and it worsened ten fold. I developed large thick scales that were peeling from my scalp when I messaged it because they were too big to come off on their own. I was devasted , as things that had worked for me in the past suddenly just did not work. I became desperate and began looking for anything in my house to help. I found this, read the ingredients and said, "Mother Africa please help heal my skin" :( I parted my scalp and messaged this all through my scalp. My family used to sit me down and "grease my scalp" every month, and it helped my hair grow and be healthy in my youth. The relief was almost instant. I continued to message through the day and before bedtime, huge pieces of skin began to fall from my scalp, but the skin underneath looked and felt SO good. I wanted to cry I was so relieved. I noticed that the formula is different now, and I'm truly hoping that the healing properties are the same. My current product is grainy in texture, but it melts right into my scalp. I noticed that my hair also looks plump, healthy, shiny, and has incredible movement...added bonus for me. I'm feel so grateful that I kept this product. PS-For reference, I am African American with long, thick relaxed hair.

I used to LOVE this stuff!!! Not a fan now. WHY WHY WHY do companies always mess up a good thing!!! If it's not broke, don't fix it!
Formulation Changed

In prior purchases, the product felt and looked quite different than the product I received. Upon comparing ingredients, it is quite clear the formulation changed and some ingredients were removed or replaced. While the overall result may be comparable, changing the formula and maintaining the product name feels misleading. Going forward, I may be best served securing the product locally, where I can visually inspect it and manage my expectations.

I have abnormally thick and coarse hair for a white male. I’ve struggled my whole life to find a product that keeps my hair from sticking straight up. Just like the title says first time ever my hair is laying down normally. I can grow it out and it stays where put it. I could cry I’m so happy.

Finally the balm is back to being totally smooth. The product had beads of coconut oil that would not always melt. This was going to be my last try so thank you for fixing that.

I LOVE the unrefined, unsc3ented shea butter! LOVE! I'm surprised I didn't like more than I did. It is not as good on my skin as the shea butter. Not a bad product but not for me.

I had a jar from a few years ago that I loved. I replaced it with new product only to find that the balm now has hard dots of wax in it. The container is plastic now not glass which is disappointing.
