Darker wood as stated by other reviews but not immensely. I had some difficulty putting the first one together, instructions aren't super clear but I figured it out (example would be the instruction stating to put the wood knobs in where the screws would be going). I searched for about a week for something unique, as I'm super picky, but I'm glad I took my time. I absolutely love these nightstands and they feel pretty sturdy so far!

They are a bit darker than the photo but not by much. The previous reviews made it sound like they would be super dark, but they are a warm, orange wood tone. Not too difficult to put together.

The other reviewer was correct. I took a gamble because the product listing for this nightstand and its sister dresser were both this lovely light oak color without enough reviews to confirm or deny its wood tone. It is in fact a much darker color, maybe walnut or acacia. I'm pretty disappointed.

Beautiful and very high quality! Took about 1.5 hours to put together. My only complaint is that it is MUCH darker wood than what is shown in the picture. Doesn’t really go with my space like I thought it would. But still a really nice piece over all!
