Description
From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past - she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she's grown to love.

I regret not seeing this film in theaters in 2019. Having watched the film recently, I can only imagine how beautiful this was in the theater. I am glad I bought the 4k version of this film and look forward to many, many viewings with friends and family! Don't miss out

This was the most underappreciated movie of 2019 by far. It's one of those films that you're unable to describe what exactly you love about it so much. It gives you a feeling not many films are able to these days, at least for me. Alita specifically is one of the most likeable characters I've seen from a film in a long time. You instantly begin to care deeply about her and you will see that throughout the movie.
If you do not own the Blu-Ray yet, the time is now! Buy it.

An absolute must have if you love Syfy, action, wow! I can't begin to tell you how good it sounds and looks in a good home theater. Off the charts. Instant classic. I'll enjoy this movie over and over in 4k and 3d. Buy it, rent it, totally worth it. ENJOY!!

Best movie so far this year in my opinion.
Without a doubt, the best stunts, action choreography, and most ground breaking special effects of any movie this year. The Avatar team didn't disappoint.
What made the visuals work so well is they combined good old fashioned set pieces and combined them with the CG so we don't get CG overload. Beautiful job
The world building in this film is spectacular and really takes you into the environment they've created.
The movie falls a little short in the dialogue with some cheesy moments but it's a minor quibble and doesn't take you out of the action and world created.
Alita, herself, is the real star of the film and why you'll likely want to re-watch this film after watching it. The movie deserves awards in the visual effects department for Alita alone.
Go see it and if you like it, please support it by buying a Blu-ray as this movie was heavily overlooked when it was in theaters but word seems to be getting around as it makes its money back in home video sales. Plus, like I said, you'll likely want to view this film more than once.

My first time seeing Alita was in IMAX 3D, and I didn't want to leave the theater after total immersion in an amazing world with an inspiring heroine full of heart, joy, and determination to "not stand by in the presence of evil!" The movie is groundbreaking in that the protagonist we follow is completely computer generated in a world that looks real, while showing more heart and emotion than the live actors. Rosa Salazar's heartfelt performance as Alita shines through the artistry and special effect wizardry of nearly every scene. The story brought me to tears several times with its completely relatable humanity. The action scenes were more spectacular than any in the other big budget movies I've seen. The fight choreography and cinematography were fluid and incredible to follow. The soundtrack perfectly complements the emotions and stakes in each scene. Altogether, this movie was the greatest experience I've ever had in a theater, and I am looking forward to bringing it home to enjoy many times with family and friends as the best and most rewatchable movie I have ever seen!
