  • A: Hi MariaJ, Our new Blink Indoor (gen 2) and Outdoor, Mini and XT2 cameras have two-way audio. Here is a guide to help use this new feature. Before using this feature, you must confirm the Blink app has permission to use the microphone on your device. iOS: Access Settings and then scroll down and select Blink from the apps list. The Microphone must be enabled. iOS mic settings Android: Access Phone Settings, Apps and scroll down and select Blink from the list. Then select App permissions and Microphone. android mic settings Allow must be enabled in the permissions for microphone access. android mic settings Your cameras will now be capable of two-way audio, as explained in the following instructions. First tap on the Live View button for any of your eligible cameras. This button is in the bottom left corner of the camera photo. Live view button While you're in Live View, you’ll see a round “Talk” button in the bottom left portion of the app. Talk button To use two-way audio you must press and hold on this button. Once you press the button wait 1-2 seconds, then begin speaking. Your voice will come out through the speaker on the front of your Blink Indoor (gen 2) or Outdoor camera, the bottom of your XT2 camera or the top of your Mini. Your voice will come out through the speaker on the bottom of your XT2 camera or the top of your Mini When you’re done speaking, we recommend taking your finger off the Talk button instead of holding it for the entire conversation. After 5 minutes, your Live View will stop and you’ll have to re-initiate another Live View session. I hope this answers your question. Thank you!

Q: Is this compatible with 5ghz WiFi?

  • A: Hi Camera! The Blink Mini connects to your router via the 2.4GHz band, which nearly all modern routers support. While some older WiFi 5 routers had them separated (so you'd have a 2.4 and a 5 version of your network), generally newer WiFi 6 routers just show both bands as one connection and will automatically provide the highest quality connection. 2.4GHz connections support from around 100Mbs to 600Mbs while offering greater penetration through walls, which is much more than the roughly 5Mbs that the Blink Mini needs in order to stream high quality video. So the service at the store is always great, but the camera is fluctuating on whether or not it wants to work and then to spite you, it will start working but the picture has a delay and doesn't capture anything. So really just wasted the money on picking it up and buying it. Ugh....

Here is some troubleshooting that may help: Open the Blink app and navigate to the camera settings. > Ensure "Motion Detection" is toggled on. > Adjust the "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a higher level if you suspect it's set too low. (I would recommend testing this by creating significant motion in front of the camera.) Additionally, check the app for any software updates that may be available. In regards to having a subscription to view recordings, you also have the option to make a one-time purchase of a Blink Sync Module. The Sync Module 2 requires a power outlet and is connected to your always-on Wi-Fi network to handle activity for up to ten Blink devices. This enables you to save clips without a subscription, improve convenience for scheduling, and arm a group of devices at once. With the Blink Subscription Plans, you can enable many premium features, including Extended Live View—exclusively for Blink Mini cameras. Extended Live View provides images and sound directly from a Mini to the Blink app for 90 minutes with a single tap. When your Mini camera is not part of a Blink Subscription Plan, Live View sessions are 60 seconds long. They can be extended to five minutes by tapping "Continue" when it appears every 60 seconds. The pixel was great but the camera hardly ever picked up any motions which was the whole reason I purchased the camera no matter how much I adjusted the sensitivity!

This camera is entirely unreliable. despite paying monthly for a subscription, it will go an entire day without picking up any motion. I lost days will not receive notifications from 6a onward until it randomly starts recording at night. I have gone through every setting and called customer care. I would recommend choosing another brand

Works good & no connectivity issues. Unbeatable price for a good basic wired camera. Never had any connectivity issues or loss of stream & we have notoriously bad wifi. I will subtract a star because the cord isnt SUPER long, and i do notice some audio feedback wooshing (we do have 2 in one open floor plan space, so maybe thats why). I have a fancy ring camera as well, and i like this one just as much. Install easy.

Good for the price. Using it as a puppy cam and it works as advertised and expected. Biggest con is that it makes a clicking sound every time it records motion or connects to live view. Also it’s an Amazon product in the Alexa family. I try to avoid Amazon products and may have chosen a different item if I’d known.

Overall a decent camera for the price. But Blink has a policy where footage gets permanently deleted after a certain point. So the entire reason to have the camera, is kind of pointless.
