Q: Pictures show the slide (additional flat surface) only out around 5" or so. Does it come out more, closer to the full depth of the table, 15"?, so it could be used as a writing surface as described?

Q: This is what I'm looking for. Picture shows it the right size but details say 18inches deep. Is this accurate? It would protrude to far if so but image shows it a depth for my needs and wants. Thanks.

This is a very nice side table, the right height and width and the legs look more classy than the regular straight legs on most tables. The table was easy to put together, however since we've had it in our living room it really smells bad, we've tried setting it outside to "air out" with no luck so not sure if it's a keeper.

I'm rating this with 3 STARS because this table is NOT BROWN! It is DARK - something like walnut in color. Very disappointed because the picture showed brown (as you can see) and I depended on that color to match my newly decorated room. If the pictures do not reflect actual color it should be noted somewhere that the photo is for demonstration purpose only!
