Q: I like to bleach my towels, just a little, to kill any germs on them. I did buy the Aqua colored ones. Has anyone successfully used bleach without damaging the color?
submitted by SanibelGal - 3 years ago
A: Hello SanibelGal - No, these are not bleach-friendly. - Sherrie

A: I use Lysol laundry sanatizer to achieve the same thing without the bleach.

A: I am unsure about bleach, but I use oxyclean on my grey towels once a month for the same reason with no issues whatsoever.

A: Use bleach for color clothes
submitted byMe - 5 months ago
A: I use a little bleach on all my towels no matter what color. My sister got hair dye in her orange towels and was afraid of bleaching the towels. Told her to give the towel to me. Bleached the towel and gave it back to her. She couldn’t believe the hair coloring was gone and the towel had been bleached! All in a days good work. Even out a bit of fabric softener to boot. Now we’re both happy sisters. Don’t be afraid to bleach those towels ladies!!

Q: What does "anti-microbial" mean? Does it have a chemical added to it?
submitted by Joanne - 4 years ago
A: I found this about SILVADUR: https://lanxess.com/en-us/products-and-brands/industries/microbial-control/industries-overview/textile
submitted byLindsey - 6 months ago
A: In another Target Answer they said it has Silvadur and according to the manufacturer page (Lanxess.com)
“Our SILVADUR™ technologies provide easy to apply, durable, sustainable antimicrobial protection that helps improve freshness , support hygienic odor and freshness solutions for textiles.
Our patented silver ion polymer technology adheres to fiber surfaces to provide long-lasting antimicrobial textile protection.
When applied to fabrics, SILVADUR™ helps protect against discoloration and prolongs fabric integrity and can withstand repeated home laundering of up to 50 wash cycles in high temperatures. Apparel and home textiles containing SILVADUR™ are non-sensitizing and do not irritate skin or disrupt normal skin flora.”
So that’s neat🤔👍🏻

A: I was just looking into this as well. It’s just silver weaved in. No chemicals. It’s supposed to reduce bacteria that grows on damp towels in between washes. Hospital’s use Antimicrobial sheets. I haven’t bought these yet but I hope that helps.
submitted byKrissy - 4 years ago
A: some just have silver woven into the fabric. Some are also dipped in a treatment liquid. The description of these towels doesn't clarify their process, just says 100% cotton.

Q: Does anyone have any tricks to control the lint? I’ve washed them SIX times and the lint is still EVERYWHERE
submitted by Ahhrealmonsters - 1 month ago
A: Target Threshold towels do seem to shed a lot in the dryer. I have some I bought six years ago and it took a year before the shedding subsided to an acceptable level. However —. The Threshold sheets I are awesome. Thick, absorbent, well made and obviously long lasting.
Not a bad trade off. I am hoping these towels will be as worthwhile.

A: Yes. I took a pic of the label in the store because I wanted to read the comments before buying. I looked up the TOTI Dr sheet. Which made no sense to me, but after some research found them to be the same as these towels.

Q: I live in a highly humid area. How long does it take for these towels to dry?
submitted by K - 2 years ago
A: Hello K - Thanks for reaching out! We can't speak to how they will dry in your specific climate. The test results for dry time in a dryer are under 35 minutes, which is actually considered a quick dry. These towels are going to be faster than others. You may also want to try the Threshold™ Quick Dry or the Room Essentials™ Everyday towels as they are a lower weight towel that will naturally dry faster. We hope this is the useful information you were looking for. Enjoy! - Matt

Q: What exactly does "antimicrobial" mean for these towels? If they are 100% cotton, they can't have silver fibers, right? And I don't see any information about any chemical additions.
submitted by Susanna - 3 years ago
A: Hello Susanna - Thank you for your interest in these towels. SILVADUR™ is a patented polymer-containing silver technology that delivers silver ions to the fabric surface and activates them in the presence of bacteria to prevent undesirable odors. It is not toxic and odor free and passes under the oekotex certification, which certifies our towels free of harmful chemicals. We hope this helps! - Nouchee

There are well over a thousand written reviews for these towels, so I wanted to make sure I actually used these towels for a long enough time to write at least a more substantial review. I've had these bath towels for 3 months now. They get used for a few days; then, they get washed and dried on average once per week (following the tag's care instructions). I like the color (I bought dark pink) and I like that they were made to hang on hooks. At month 3, the seams on a couple of the towels are starting to come undone. For the price, I guess these would then be considered decent. However, I have Target towels that are a little over 5 years old that are used regularly and there are still no problems with the seams. The quality and standards are getting lower each year, and I would have never noticed unless I compared these towels to the ones I've had for 5 years. They're thick enough towels. I haven't had any problems with shedding or color transfer. I'd say the price is decent, but considering the seams came undone in just a few months, I personally can't justify buying more unless they go on a good sale.

I purchase these in the bath sheet size for the kids (ages 8-13) otherwise they’re trying to steal my expensive ones. They’re the perfect size for kids to wrap up in, they absorb water efficiently, and they’re priced just right!
