The back of the headboard does not go all the way to the floor on this headboard and there is 24" gap from the bottom of the back panel to the floor. A: Hello Becky - Thank you for your question. Our frames are built to fit the standard sized mattresses and box springs. All King mattresses should be 76"W x 80"D. To be clear, the case of this bed, the mattress will sit on a box spring which will sit on the frame. Hope this helps. - Rose

A: Hello Sarah- We appreciate your interest in our Bed in Linen! To answer your question, Skyline standard beds can be used with adjustable bases if the adjustable base can fit fully inside our frame. Please refer to the Interior specs I’ve attached and note the measurements at the corners. These metal corners are necessary to the construction of our frame and cannot be removed. They sit at 6” above the ground. The adjustable base must fit with these dimensions. We caution the use of wingback headboards as the wings are designed to fit snuggly around a mattress. Repeated movement of the adjustable can cause wear on both the fabric of the wings and possibly the motor of the adjustable. As you did not specify the size that you are interested in so I'm including the instructions to a Queen for reference to your email address. The number of center supports will vary with different sizes but this will give a general idea. I hope this helps! -Erin
