Q: how acqurate is the watch in diagnosing afib
A: Something else you can do with a Bluetooth smartwatch is wear a Polar (or Garmin, but their straps get stinky) heart rate monitor chest strap. The pulse readings watches take from the wrist measure blood flow, the ECG reading requires having the band tight, being still and holding a finger from the opposite hand to the crown. The chest straps won’t pick up AFIB, but will pick up the electrical activity of a fast heart relate due to tachycardia or AFIB
submitted byHealthy Dad - 5 months agoA: It diagnosed my afib. I figured my cardiologist would think I was crazy, but a heart monitor confirmed it was correct.
submitted byBevS - 7 months agoA: I let a friend put mine on after she had been formally diagnosed with Afib. It immediately and correctly confirmed it after the watch test. I'd say it's pretty accurate.
submitted byKen - 7 months agoA: It saved my life in April 2023 on the first pick up. I’ve worn it faithfully and had it again this June and again in the last two weeks. As a nurse it is a great product. Check your pulse, do an ekg and send it to your doctor! Amazing technology
submitted byBarb - 7 months agoA: I assume it has only gotten better. I have the Series 7 and about two years ago it set off an AFIB warning. I also had some symptoms. I went to the ED and AFIB was confirmed.
submitted byMarmadmax - 7 months agoA: It caught my friends AFIB and was confirmed in the ER

Q: Does the model number on the units sold by Target in the USA end in LW/A indicating that these units will not measure blood oxygen per the patent infringement case with medical device company Masimo?
A: Hi canonqtmi, thanks for reaching out about Apple Watch Series 10 Aluminum Case (2024). Based on the information available, here's a detailed answer to your question about the Apple Watch Series 10 Aluminum Case (2024) sold by Target in the USA and its blood oxygen measurement capabilities: Model Numbers and Blood Oxygen Feature: Units sold in the USA on or after January 18, 2024, that do not have the blood oxygen feature enabled have model numbers ending in "LW/A". This change was implemented due to a patent infringement case with the medical device company Masimo. This applies to several Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Series 10. Therefore, if the Apple Watch Series 10 Aluminum Case (2024) units sold by Target in the USA have model numbers ending in LW/A, they will not have the blood oxygen measurement feature enabled. How to Identify the Model Number: You can find the model number of an Apple Watch through the following steps: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap the My Watch tab, then go to General > About. Locate the Model Number field. You will initially see a part number starting with "M." Tap the Model Number field, and it will update to show a five-digit number beginning with "A." This is the model number you need to check. Checking at Target: If you are purchasing in-store, you can inspect the packaging to see if the model number is listed. Look for the part number on the back of the box. If you are buying online, Target's product listings may include the model number. Review the product details or specifications. If the model number is not explicitly stated, be aware that units sold after January 18, 2024, in the US for the Series 10 are likely to have the "LW/A" designation and lack the blood oxygen feature. Target's website listings for the Apple Watch Series 10 often show a model identifier that might help in determining if it ends in LW/A. For example, a listing might show "MWWQ3LW/A" which indicates a model without the blood oxygen feature.
