Q&A(18)
Q: I wanna try this but do the sleeves keep baby from the startle movement or how does this work exactly?
A: The Sleepsuit is designed with 3 layers of fabric to give babies a cozy, comfy feeling for transitioning out of the swaddle. The Sleepsuit is not weighted but is effective for muffling the startle reflexes. Please contact us directly if you have any product questions. magicsleepsuit@gmail.com or 877-458-0130.

Q: what temp should I keep my house? my baby wears a footies pj set and a light weight sleep sack right now. I want to start him on the suit but I'm afraid he'll over heat now that we are going into summ
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be used in accordance with the safe sleep guidelines including the ABCs of sleep (Alone, Back, Crib) and in a room at the AAP recommended temperature for babies, which is on the cooler side. It is designed with open hands and feet, which allows baby’s heat to dissipate as they sleep. We recommend dressing the baby in a diaper or a onesie under the Magic Sleepsuit - no more than one layer of light cotton.

Q: What do you recommend for the next product to transition of out the sleep suit? My 5 months is about to be too big for it but it has been amazing
A: We recommend the Magic Dream Sack. It is a wearable blanket made from the same materials as the Magic Sleepsuit so that babies can continue to sleep well in the cozy fabrics they have grown to Love. By using the same material and two layers of fabric to create a comfy and secure feeling, the Baby Merlin ‘s Dream Sack provides your baby with a familiar sleep environment.

Q: Is this safe to let them wear in a bassinet?
A: Because babies' arms and legs are in the outstretched position when wearing The Magic Sleepsuit, their sleep area should be large enough so their arms and legs do not touch the side of the sleep space. Smaller sleep spaces can cause the fabric to shift. Many parents transition to a larger sleep space at the same time they are transitioning to The Magic Sleepsuit.

Q: my baby is going on 4 months on 12/24/2020 and he is chunky and weighs you can say 20 pounds. which one do i get ? i need to start leaving is arms out.
A: Proper fit and timing of introduction are essential to the success of the Magic Sleepsuit. A good rule of thumb to use regarding sizing is to match the Magic Sleepsuit size to the clothing he wears consistently outside of the crib. When he is wearing 3-6 month clothing, the 3-6 month Magic Sleepsuit will be a better fit. Likewise, the 6-9 month Sleepsuit fits better when your little one is wearing 6-9 month clothing. The baby's weight and size of clothing are more important factors than length as the hands and feet are open by design.

Q: My 8 week old is almost 15 pounds, is it okay to try at 8 weeks old? My older son was rolling over by 3 months so just not sure if it makes sense waiting or is trying now will work/ be okay since she meets weight measurements.
A: At 8 weeks, she is still on the very young side to introduce as her startle reflex may still be too strong. Most parents introduce at 3 months when transitioning from the swaddle. We recommend keeping a close eye on her as she become more mobile inside to ensure she can’t wiggle out. Many times when parents introduce early they have a short period of great success as she is so cozy, then when they become more active the “Magic”wears off because it’s too big.

Q: 4 month old has started to roll over. Is this safe to wear?
A: It is recommended that babies transition out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they can roll over while wearing it, or seem to be trying to roll over in it. This is a sign they are ready for the next stage of sleep of having more freedom of movement. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib from the swaddle transition stage until babies are ready for that next stage of having more movement. Often babies will roll while awake and out of the Magic Sleepsuit well before they are able to roll over while in it.
