Q: Does this box smell like wood treatment/formaldehyde odor? I am worried about that chemical smell that I keep reading about with bamboo boxes

A: Thank you for your inquiry. All bamboo products contain a very small amount of formaldehyde to hold the glue together. Our products use glue with the minimum amount of formaldehyde possible and do not have a strong smell. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

This is such a cute product!! I’ve been looking for something to house tea bags for my guests. This box is so perfect. Space for tons of variety and fits in my drawer really nicely. Only flaws I have come across was that the door was very hard to open. I was worried I was going to break it, and I really had to stretch it to open all the way. It worked in my favor though and didn’t break on me. The other flaw was many scuffs/scratches on the plastic top. It’s not a huge deal, but certainly noticeable.

I was going to give these as Christmas gifts. When I opened the boxes to put tea bags in, one of the boxes broken upon opening. What if I did not open the box and gifted them anyway? That would not be nice. Now I have to look for something else for the present.

The look and feel is exactly what I expected, but it's not perfect. The first thin I noticed was that some of the smaller strips of wood were not secured properly, I had to sort of push them into place. Then, the tea bags I am storing in this box (Tazo Tea) are too tall? Just barely, but the lid won't close completely because of it. It's a small inconvenience and I like the look of it, so I just keep it in my pantry.

I like the look but the lid isn’t lined up with the box. It’s not that noticeable but you can feel it. I decided to keep it instead of going through the hassle of a return. I keep it in my pantry anyway.

I got this for my sister’s Christmas present. I ordered it on Monday and it was there by Friday. The tea bags fit perfectly in the box. The only problem I noticed was the lid doesn’t close all the way. Other than that, it worked out great.

I really liked this but I had to return it. The lid was crooked and did not close correctly. It was also bigger than I expected. However, I would have kept it if the lid closed correctly. I wish they sold this in the stores so I could have exchanged it.

I was really excited about this box, and I'm sure if you buy this at the store, it is probably fine. I ordered mine online. What you'll notice, if you look closely at the photos, is there seem to be two different boxes featured - the difference is in the hinges that open the box - some are the larger gold-looking hinges, but the other are the tiny little wire hinges that seemed to break pretty easily. Mine broke in the mail, but I'm pretty sure they will break pretty easily with a little bit of use, so make sure if you are purchasing to get a box that has the larger hinges.
