I purchased this doll for an all girl event where all the young girls would leave with a book and a Barbie. This doll was perfect!

The 65th Anniversary Barbie dolls do not disappoint.

Just a beautiful doll.

Not only is her Afro not as shown in the picture, but her skin tone, eye color & face are not at all the doll I expected to receive as shown in the photo. (Pictures attached for proof)

The Afro on mine is kind of weird and thin. Also, the face is kind of pixelated if you look at it up close. As much as the outfit is okay, I kind of wished that we had full recreational of the dolls that they are supposed to represent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My granddaughter shrieked with glee at how beautiful this toy was. She loved the red sparkling dress and the high heeled boots. The material used for the body of the toy seemed less durable then toys similar to this one. Overall, my granddaughter carries this with her everywhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the 65th anniversary Barbie fashionista 221 recently and I’m completely in awe of her beauty. The entire wave is comprised of dolls homaging iconic dolls in Barbie history. This one in particular plays homage to Black Barbie produced in 1980 designed by Kitty Black Perkins. She features a short textured Afro, gold necklace, a shimmering red dress, and red heels. Her red dress is a perfect modern take of the original dress. The packaging is lovely featuring beautiful artwork and the 65th anniversary logo. In my opinion, she would make a great gift for kids to play with or keep in box as a keepsake, as her packaging would display well on a shelf.

The first thing that caught my eye was Barbie’s trendy red sparkly dress with shoulder cut-outs, her gold necklace, and those fashionable shoes. The attention to detail is really impressive! What I love most is how this Barbie embraces diversity with different body types, skin tones, and hairstyles, really reflecting real-world beauty. My daughter has spent hours playing with her, and she fits right in with her growing collection. The only downside is the tiny accessories that can easily get lost, for example the shoes can easily slip out. But overall, the Barbie Fashionista doll is fantastic and I would say she encourages creativity and celebrates diversity. It’s a perfect gift for any young fashion lover.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first brought out the toy my older daughter squealed that she was “sooooo fancy!” My younger daughter loved her hair and kept putting her shoes on and off of her feet. Overall they were both thrilled with her and both of them wanted her to herself. This doll is a fantastic addition to a Barbie collection, but be prepared to officiate a fight over her if you have multiple Barbie-loving children.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doll is beautiful. Her dress is a vibrant red and accessories to match in gold. The shoes don’t come off easily like others my daughter have. Afro is soft and could easily be put into a different style with some rubberbands if your child thinks they’re a hairstylist like mine. My daughter probably would enjoy the doll more if her limbs would bend. The doll does not sit nicely in a toy chair because her limbs do not bend. This was a frustration for my 4 year old daughter.

Everything put together to make a unique, yet still iconically “Barbie” doll. The outfit she comes in is also lovely. A shimmery red fabric with interesting sleeve designs. My child has been happily playing with her since arriving.

My granddaughter enjoys playing with her. The shoes were the first thing to come off. Since this is a basic doll it’s fine for younger kids who don’t know about bendable legs and arms on dolls.
