Barbie Basics Collectible Doll, Model 05 with Brunette Hair in Black Dress and Heels

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doll is absolutely stunning! I love how it has a more realistic body shape compared to the Barbie i was used to in my childhood, super skinny! This one has nice curves, the material seems different as well, and I love the little black dress. I am keeping it in the box to preserve it writing to be displayed in my soon to be coming walk in closet glass case!

This is one of my favorite Barbie Basics dolls for 2025. She is really well done, with a great face sculpt, poseable limbs and head, and fun dress, shoes and earrings. Fun to pose and photograph. Good job Mattel!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Barbie basics model 05 doll is a collectors dream come true. The doll’s attire is a black designer looking dress with cute black heels. She is wearing gold hoop earrings. This doll is great in the fact she doesn’t have the typical Barbie body. She is a little wider in the hips and legs which I feel makes her look more like a normal person. I love that this look will allow girls to see many different body shapes in a Barbie versus the typical tiny waist, skinny legs and perky breasts. The Barbie is jointed in her arms and legs so she can be posed like a person. She also comes with a certificate of authenticity as well as a stand to place her on if you like showing your collection. I would recommend this doll for any Barbie or doll enthusiast as she will be a nice addition to your collection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw Model 05 from the Barbie Basics LBD (Little Black Dress) collection, I was immediately drawn to her. Out of the five options, I chose her because she closely resembles me! She has a beautiful curvy figure, long brown hair styled in a sleek high ponytail, light brown eyes, and neutral makeup that feels elegant and timeless. Her large gold hoop earrings add the perfect bold touch to her look. What really stands out about this Barbie is that she’s different from the original Barbies I grew up with. She has joints at the knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, and wrists, so you can pose her in all kinds of realistic ways. It actually reminded me of an Italian doll I had as a child that I loved for the same reason—although with that doll, the hands used to fall off! This Barbie feels much sturdier, and I love that I can move her freely without worrying. As someone who enjoys drawing, I also see her as a fun tool for art. You can pose her and use her as a model to sketch human figures, which is such a bonus! Overall, she’s stylish, versatile, and a lot of fun to play with or display.

They look awkward and large for the dolls body. She is a little bit larger then other Barbie dolls. I don't think i would purchase this doll for anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality and presentation is clearly a plus on these dolls, highly detailed face, makeup and eyes are incredible sharp. Other aspect that cought our attention was the body, the lines are more natural than on a regular Barbie doll. The box also creates a great way to keep it in the shelf to show it off. The fabric of the dress has no over saturated or bulky stitches, very well hand crafted. The hair looks and feels really nice and natural, the color is so close to real life.

My girls loved playing with her, they loved the fact that her earrings detached, and they love the fact that she looks like a regular girl dressed up. They definitely liked the way she came boxed and her characteristics as well.

Her head is easily removable for wardrobe changes. On its own, she's a great doll but this is a great Barbie for young or young at heart collectors.

Quality that you would expect from Mattel, this doll has multiple movement areas: head, shoulders, upper arm twist, elbows, hands, hips, knees, and feet. The hair was long and the shoes fit like cinderella! The little black dress lived up to the LBD vibe. The mounting stand securely held her for all to see! 10/10.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Barbie Basics Model 5 was a firm "maybe" for me. Love the face mold, screening and hair, but I will probably swap bodies if one of the kits matches her. The dress is a tad too short, but love the top.

Her hair is soft and easy to brush, and it lays perfectly, it's not stiff or frazzled looking. She is extremely posable at her many joints to give her even more attitude, or not, it's up to you. I love the dress, it's simple but slightly revealing and it moves well with her body poses. The big gold hoop earrings are the perfect stand-out piece of jewelry for this doll. I haven't been a huge fan of the curvy dolls in the past, but this one is gorgeous and her body is perfect.
