There is a reason why Grant Morrison's Batman has sold as well as it has, and continues to do so. Morrison combines all the best elements of Batman from action, adventure, mystery. Within this story Batman is introduced to Damian, his son that Talia Al Ghul had in secret. She wants to unite The house of Al Ghul and Wayne to rule over the Earth, with their genetically perfected son. Raised by assassins, the boy has had no influence from his father. Now Batman has to try to save his son from a life of crime and murder. There is also a mysterious group in Gotham called The Black Glove and The Club of Villains that has their sights set for Batman. The leader, Dr Simon Hurt had been involved in an experiment the Gotham Police Department as well as Batman had participated in years earlier. Simon Hurt had learned of the secret "Zur En Arrh" from Bruce's childhood, and uses it against him. The story pushes Batman to his limits, and shows why he is one of the greatest heroes. The writing is deep, psycological and very layered. Every time to read it is a new experience. There are so many details within, you'll always pick up on something new each time you read it. The story is also very rich and dense. Many of the plot points carry into Morrison's other Batman omnibus volumes.
