About the Book

A weaving of biblical wisdom, keen insights into human behavior, and personal reflection prompts, Being Fully Known tackles the negative self-talk and limiting beliefs that leave women stuck in lives that are not their own.

Book Synopsis

A weaving of biblical wisdom, keen insights into human behavior, and personal reflection prompts, Being Fully Known tackles the negative self-talk and limiting beliefs that leave us stuck in lives that are not our own.

The world pressures us to do. God invites us to be. In this freeing book, Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith speaks to all of us who hold back because we fear vulnerability or rejection. Using her background as a physician, spiritual mentor, and coach, Dr. Saundra helps us bridge the disconnect between the wanting to express our true selves and the beliefs that keep us in fear-based living.

Structured with the option to be used as part of a 21-day fast, Being Fully Known blends Scripture, science, and story to offer insights into how we can:

  • discover where we naturally fit rather than forcing ourselves to fit in
  • embrace the fullness of our identity apart from our assumed roles
  • overcome mental barriers that cause us to seek accomplishment over contentment
  • reconnect with the courage to live into what God sees in us
  • experience greater joy in our relationships, career, and creative expression

Being Fully Known is a journey toward God-awareness, self-acceptance, and the fulfillment found in knowing we are seen and understood. Step into your God-given, joy-filled identity as you follow the mentoring of the Holy Spirit through this life-changing guide to being over doing.

For me, the best of life is captured in just “being”….when I can just be present, be aware of God’s love and acceptance, be in His presence and His rest! Sometimes it helps to have a book that invites me to “that place”… my personal “safe place”. This would be that book this year~~Being Fully Known, The Joyful Satisfaction of Beholding , Becoming and Belonging by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith… This book resonates with all hearts because we were created with a desire to be deeply known, accepted and loved. I appreciate the way this author relates to us, like she’s inviting us to sit down in a comfy chair across from her and… Just open our hearts, be real, be encouraged. To be fully known and still loved is a quest many give up on. May I whisper to you that it is possible? Join others that are exploring that quest!

Being Fully Known is the book that I never knew I needed! The first word in the first chapter grabbed my attention with an immediate call to action. It provoked my curiosity and motivated me to embrace what it means to be fully known. I appreciated the truthfulness, encouraging words and reflection prompts that are woven in the pages of this book. I found the practical applications and 21-day fasting guide to be useful with challenging me to actively participate in my journey to belonging and being more of who God created me to be. Since reading Being Fully Known, I am learning how to become who I am and live in my unique self as what God sees in me.

Saundra Dalton-Smith delivers again with practical, heart rendering truth, meeting the reader where they are and gently bringing them forward. In an easy to read format, Saundra gets behind the walls we've been using for cover and asks the questions that speak to the heart and move us toward the freedom we seek and don't know how to find. Reflective questions are companions along the journey so the words on the pages are water to thirsty souls, yearning to be seen, known, valued, and truly loved and unsure of being worthy of it all. Applying the insights from this book will take you further down your road of embracing your true worth...for who you are, not what you do.

I highlighted so much of this book! To be healed by God and made whole in Jesus Christ, sometimes we have to face old wounds. Each chapter closes with the Scriptural truths to go deeper and "'daily unveiling" questions to really explore and ponder. It was such a gentle way to complete each chapter before moving on to the next. I encourage you to read this book to Behold, Become and Belong to God.

So many of us long to be fully known, not just by others but also by ourselves. Who did God create us to be? What is my identity in Christ? What is my purpose? Being Fully Known walks us through three important steps: beholding, becoming, and belonging to embrace our authentic selves. As you read through each section, you will find yourself highlighting many passages as you feel seen by the author and know she has walked this path herself! Through her wisdom and personal stories, she also includes how many of us need to work through previous trauma, which is not only relatable but also a valuable tool to get us started on the road to authenticity and fulfilling our God-given purpose!

Dr. Saundra's book could not have come at a more perfect time during my own journey of being fully known. The guidance, perspective, and biblical principles around "beholding" offer just what my soul has been crying out for. Working through this book has been such a treat that I couldn't wait to share it with friends. As a transformational coach for Christian women, I have already added this book to my list of client resources.
