I placed an order for three ice creams that were listed as available on the Target app and waited outside for my order. While I was waiting, I received a notification indicating that the two Ben and Jerry's Phish Food Non-Dairy Ice Creams I had purchased were out of stock. A Target employee then handed me the one ice cream that was available, but did not provide the other two, as they were supposedly out of stock. Subsequently, I parked my vehicle and entered the store to explore other non-dairy options, as I intended to buy three ice creams. While browsing the ice cream section, I discovered that the Ben and Jerry's Non-Dairy Phish Food was indeed in stock, with an entire row available at that. It raises the question of why the staff would claim that the ice cream was out of stock when it was not. This situation is unacceptable, and I can only imagine how many others may have been affected by the miscommunication regarding the availability of items, leading to unnecessary confusion and frustration. I have attached pictures for reference to show that I went inside and made purchase of the items that were supposedly out of stock.

Ben & Jerry’s ice cream has long been a favorite for its creative flavors, rich textures, and commitment to social causes. From classics like Cherry Garcia to indulgent combinations like The Tonight Dough, the brand has something for every palate. However, I’ve been increasingly disappointed to find preservatives, such as carrageenan, in some of their products. While the company emphasizes quality ingredients, the inclusion of these additives feels out of step with their natural and premium image. For a brand that prides itself on being “clean” and conscious, it’s disheartening to see preservatives in their ingredient lists.

We bought our fave phish food, not realizing it was a new recipe that had turned nondairy. We actually would prefer non-dairy, but this is gross. 🤮 The almond milk and plant proteins taste terrible. they literally took our favorite flavor and instead of just making a nondairy version, replaced perfection with grossness. Lazy?

So delicious!! I have loved Phish Food in the past but now with a wheat and dairy allergy, didn't think I could have it again. I was OVERJOYED to see this is both gluten AND dairy free, which my family requires. Maybe not exactly the dame texture as th original, but close! And absolutely delicious. We are thrilled Ben and Jerrys is producing some of their amazing ice cream with different formulions so that food allergy sufferers can enjoy as well. Yay!

This was… not great. I’ve tried another flavor of non-dairy and thought it was great. This was actually pretty awful. It was edible because it was chocolate, marshmallow and caramel, but if it was plain vanilla or chocolate, I would have thrown it away uneaten. Turns out this was made with oat milk. The one I liked was made with almond milk. I’ll keep oats in my oatmeal, what a terrible “ice cream”.

this was my favorite for awhile, but something in the recipe changed + now it makes me sicker than when i used to eat dairy. not sure why lots of DF foods i could eat for years now are causing allergic reactions.

It’s really good texture wise(my husband didn’t even realize it was dairy free), but it’s definitely lacking something flavor wise. It’s good but not great, just a little blah, like most oatmilk ice creams tend to be.

This is the best dairy free and gluten free ice cream there is. I’ve always loved Phish food and I’m so happy to be able to have it again, even with my dietary restrictions! It tastes exactly the same as the original.

Such an amazing pairing of flavor and texture - and it’s basically impossible to not eat it all in one sitting (BUT if you don’t the convenient lid is a nice touch! 🙃) It’s one of my favorite of the Ben and Jerry flavors. Only wish it came in larger size 🤭

I rate B&J vegan ice cream very highly. It is without doubt the best vegan ice cream. But vegan Phish Food is far, far, far, too sweet. 26% sugar says it all. One serving constitutes 66% of your daily allowance of sugar. Absolutely no need to make food this sweet. Binned it. Must do better.
